    @SPRINGFIELD,

I was just responding to your statement, "xxx with dogs who are Schutzund quality here in Cebu." Yes, I have been observing beauty pageants of showtype GSDs here in Cebu. Thanks for the reply anyway.

    Sorry boss demitre.

    @ JUSTICE HUGO ...

You asked for dogs that are SCHUTZHUND QUALITY , I answered you to go to the show to see these dogs personally . From my understanding , you thought of QUALITY as something that carries a name , a title or a maybe a champion , possibly a hall of famer pa .

Although not to confuse the forumers , I am talking about GSD's here . When we say quality , not to limit only about its color , bloodline nor structure , if the absence of good temperament , character , high level of trainability , stamina during gaiting and most of all prey drive is evident .... lisod gyud na siya i campaign specially sa Pilipinas na 1 ra ang authorized judge mo rate . But to have the best of both worlds , the perfection of mental and physical stability sa dog , kinsa dili ganahan ? It just so happen that its more on the function over form .

Observing beauty pageant in GSD SHOWTYPES in Cebu only happens in ALL BREEDS SHOW although mothings wrong with it , never in LANDESGRUPPEN's , much more on SEIGERS SHOWS .

If we only follow the WUSV rulings , did you know that your dog cant gait if it fails in the biteworks ?? Meaning autmotatic na siya na disqualified .

    @ DEMITRE ...

You first detailed the notion that NOSEWORK is about searching for OBJECTS that are SUBJECTS for the search . Later on , you clarrified that indeed its a scent search gyud because the dog has to identify the scent individually . Correct me if I am wrong , if you tasked the dog to search the SPICE " PEPPER " , i dedma lang sa dog ang " CUMIN " because he or she was tasked to only search the PEPPER . Sakto ba ? If that is perfected , that would be a very nice dog .

Now , TRACKING on the otherhand , limits only to the search of an object regardless of what it is but briefings are evident or so to say the dog is lso instructed what to search . The only catch here is , the dog is scored 100 points and deductions are made along the way . I am not sure lang sa ruling that sa whole course of tracking , allowed lang ang dog mo saka sa ulo niya 3 or 5 times lang . As seen in the video , makita nimo non stop angs niff sa dog until ma locate ang object .

At first i stated that Nose work is just a recreational sport that teaches your dog to find a specific target scent or odor. (posted #4 in my thread)

Yes in nose work a specific scent is required for the dog to find. Ex. in NS1 trail the dog should only indicate the find for BIRCH and any scent other than BIRCH iya i-dedma. Same siguro ilang scoring kay 100pts gihapon ilang ihatag but there are no limits kung ka pila mo saka ang head sa dog kay in nose work dogs are allowed to air scent to locate the specific scent especially if its an indoor building search. The scent may be in placed in the ground or in an elevated location.

Yes sa unsa ra gyud na nila gusto itawag sa ilang activity. That its why in the K9 NOSE WORK (National Association of Canine Scent Work) site gi state nila nga: "The terms nose work, fun nose work, scent work, search work are all commonly used references to describe any activity where the dog is using its nose to locate a target scent or odor.

sa PDAA ang term nga Nose Work ang gi gamit.

Not really. Its because the target scent does not need to be placed in the ground. Pwede sya ibutang sa wall, on top of the cabinet, drawer, shelves, or even sa fire hose, etc. First mo ground sniff sila and if they dont pick up any then they will try air scenting.

    OT @ JUSTICE HUGO

Atong balikon imong question statement ha .

Good morning sir. Where can I possibly find Schutzund QUALITY dogs here in Cebu? I ask this question because my conception of QUALITY is that the dogs are successfully campaigned here and abroad competing against QUALITY dogs also, not just to one or two "quality" dog. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Atong i line per line :

Where can I possibly find Schutzund QUALITY dogs here in Cebu?

I answered that you need to go to the upcoming show since you wont only see them personally but know also the owners and breeders .

my conception of QUALITY is that the dogs are successfully campaigned here and abroad competing against QUALITY dogs also, not just to one or two "quality" dog.

I answered you already that QUALITY has nothing to do with STRUCTURE in its entirety but also of character .

I also emphasized that one need not to be shown nor campaign . One can even identify a GSD as a 2 month old pup if this dog has a potential and te capacity to have the SCHUTZHUND QUALITY . I have seen GSD's that cost close to a half million because of the status na IMPORTED siya but basura ra diay sa litter . Maybe you confused the ord QUALITY as a dog that is accomplished already . I never said quality but I said SCH QUALITY so to make it short , a dog that is bound to be someone someday but of course lisod kay wala man ta ana na ruling sa GSDF maski under ta sa WUSV .

All GSD's are very trainable yet a lot of GSD's also are STUBBORN and WEAK . These are the qualities that you have to see to know unsay future sa GSD nimo if i career nimo ang sila through campaigns outside sa all breed show . If familiar ka sa mga showtypes like ni Quartz du Bergenie , he was a grand champion diri sa Pilipinas yet the dog has no prey drive . That is an example of a dog na QUALITY GSD yet dili siya SCHUTZHUND QUALITY .

Did I still not get your question ??

    @ DEMITRE ...

Thats why I said it makes sense because there is no reason for a dog to stick his or head up if naa ra sa ground naka butang ang subject hehehe . Unless willing ka i-ukang ang tile sa sawg aron itago ang object hehehe .

Nag libog nako sa imong statement bai.

Ang akong pasabot sa k9 nose work allowed ang dog to stick his head up kay sometimes the target scent gi tuyo og place on an elevated location such as ibutang/papilit sa wall, on top of the cabinet, drawer, shelves, or even sa fire hose, etc.
