Obviously you are a medical professional.

Sorry, but it is just too technical/scientific I just don't have enough to absorb and translate it to laymen's terms.

Equipment - another word like furniture that is used both for plural and singular. It is therefore not right to pluralize the word by adding an 's'.

The word Equipment itself refers to a set of tools. A Backhoe for instance is an earth moving equipment. It comprises of different sets of tools like an engine, brakes, arms, buckets, etc. If you have several Backhoes, they are still equipment, NOT equipments.

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis = a lung disease caused by breathing in particles of siliceous volcanic dust.

This is the longest word in any English dictionary. However, it was coined by Everett Smith, the President of The National Puzzlers' League, in 1935 purely for the purpose of inventing a new "longest word". The Oxford English Dictionary described the word as factitious. Nevertheless it also appears in the Webster's, Random House, and Chambers dictionaries.
