Correct me if I am wrong , the TRACKING you are probably talking about is the action of a RESCUER with the assistance of a K9 .

ANyways .... gi develop na lage ang location sa Paseo Arcenas ? Isnt that supposed to be sa K9CARE ? Asa na ang new venue ninyo sir ? WOuld like to see the dogs in actions .

Oh i though u mean that "TRACKING"... There is no difference between Tracking and Nose Work. Both are used references to describe any activity where the dog is using its nose to locate a target scent or odor.

Ang term lang na K9 Nose Work gi gamit sa NACSW.

for more info here is the link for National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW) that governs that sport: National Association of Canine Scent Work

the target odors that are being used during nose work ORT (Odor Recognition Test) are:
ORT (Birch): Must certify on Odor #1; required for NW1 eligibility
ORT (Anise): Must certify on Odor #2; required for NW2 eligibility
ORT (Clove): Must certify on Odor #3; required for NW3 eligibility

    -------------

Yes gi develop na ang paseo nga training ground pero ila mi gi balhin sa atbang. Kanang sa paseo ground is only a meeting place namo during saturdays or sundays. I have a personal training ground sa labangon which is also the main ofc of K9CARE.

That is so true , its all about misconceptions yet we have to make sure also that when dealing with dogs , appropriate terms and definitions should be applied in a strict compliance aron newbies like me naa sa right track specially sa mga breeders , handlers , trainers , owners or just plain dog lovers .

    OT :

    - Sometimes , when people talk about how great their dogs are , they usually refer to their respective pedigrees and shows off the green and red marks .

    - Sometimes , when people talk about guard dogs , they are usually referring to their dogs na mamaak gyud hehe regardless of enters the premises .

    - Sometimes , when people talk about show dogs , they are referring to the nice coat , macho stack and etc yet they dont know what is character and temperament .

    - These are only the basics , samotan na ang tecnicals kaayo like the abilities and capabilities of the dog like tracking , biteworks , off leash , companionship etc .

Hope bai , Cebu will be one in acocmplishing these regardless of what breeds we represent and promote .

Good morning sir. Where can I possibly find Schutzund QUALITY dogs here in Cebu? I ask this question because my conception of QUALITY is that the dogs are successfully campaigned here and abroad competing against QUALITY dogs also, not just to one or two "quality" dog. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes that is so true. Even sa US ilang gamit lahi lahi depende sa unsang organization nga nag trial. Pero parihas ra gud puros ang concept make the dog use its nose to find the subject/object.

We will support that .

    @ JUSTICE HUGO ...

OFFTOPIC kay kasab-an ta ni Demitre diri .

Schutzund , correct me if I am wrong is not a competition but a degree of accomplishment bot of the handler and the dog . Now if you meant of QUALITY in terms of the " BEAUTY PAGEANT " department which is basically the dog shows , naa daghan bai . Imported pa uban . Try to attend the upcoming GSD show in Labangon Elementary School which I advertised in the boards also , daghan ka makita didto . SOme are even actual SCHZ 1 rated na imported from Germany . These are SHOWTYPES though , not the WORKING LINES .

    Sure update nya ko.

By the way katong TRACKING na term, AKC calls its event Tracking kay human ilang gi pangita. So TRACKING for them is search and rescue. In their site ilang gi state nga: The purpose of a tracking test is to demonstrate the dog's ability to recognize and follow human scent, a skill that is useful in the service of mankind. AKC tracking events are the competition form of canine search and rescue. These Tracking events provide training for dogs and their handlers to meet some human needs for tracking and finding lost humans or other animals, as well as, demonstrating the extremely high level of scent capability that dogs possess.

While sa Nose Work ang recreational scent ilang gi pangita such as birch, clove and anise.

So i think more or less mao na ang major difference sa NOSE WORK og TRACKING.
