You are wrong with the assumption that the majority of all programming languages is derived from C.

Relevant siya, because I think prominent japon siya when making system components and firmware.
Though I am not really sure if they are using actual C or C++ na.
    Pero C japon di ba?

Kung hisgot ka og uso, C#, VB?, PHP, Java, Phyton, PowerBuilder, Ruby and etc.

    Thanks,
asking if c is still relevant is like asking if water is still relavant to humans..

not because there is a "trend" of new technologies, as long as software runs in a hardware like pc or a mobile device, C will alwys play an important role..

OS like linux and windows, drivers, firmwares, console games are all written in c or C++.
and hey even WEB app dpends on C, you just dont realize it!, webservers are written in C,DB such as mySQl are written in C, web browers are written in C/C++...
not to mention other software that requireces a great amount of performance, resourcess like memory, hardware access, etc. will be written in C.

..so without C do you thnk the 'trend' even exist?

The diagram is all about the evolution.derivation and progress of the programming languages, sakto na not all programming languages is derived from C, but most of them(if not ALL) was written in C.

Clearly in the diagram Java was derived from OAK but no connection from C/C++, dba? But OAK was written in C/C++. Therefore without C/C++ there is no Java.

Another example is Ruby, beginning with version 1.8.7 Ruby was implemented in C. How bout Pearl? its interpretter is written on C dba (but it does not show on the diagram)? Same goes to almost all programming and scripting languages, those languages are either written in C or in ASM.

If we based the diagram alone, youll wonder, how was OAK even written? based sa diagram basta lang cya nigawas? dba dapat naay programming language na gigamit para mag create ug programming language right?

If you guys looked at open source projects, like source code sa werbserver that runs PHP, any interpreter, java or any language, or any sikat na "trend" then youll conclude that C is more than relevant its a necessity.

dba gkan ang c from b then bcpl then algol then fortran then pinaka ubos na gyud assembly or machine code.

my question is unsa nag himo sa assembly or machine code? kadto na gyud 0-1 sa mga electronic parts. series of on-off?
