I'd like to hear your thoughts on this matter. Do you think that China will eventually rival or even surpass the United States as a global superpower, a la Cold War Part Deux?

China is a powerful entity...it is moving up economically and militarily... comparing it with the big powers of the west, which are on economic decline, China can afford to stand against any other nation... By itself, China has lent more money than the World Bank... It is a legitimate threat, recognized by many international investors who are eyeing a piece of China's wealth... US has faded... China emerges... that is just a fact...nations rise and fall, its just that we are so used to hear US this and US that.... As US had eclipsed Great Britain as a superpower at the turn of the 20th century, so too will China eclipse US in the 21th.... This is not a guess...it has already been anticipated... that's why for many years, it has been called "the sleeping giant" and not the "dead giant"...a dead giant wouldn't wake up...but a sleeping giant will...and it is starting to wake... this is still its first yawn in the morning...
