Noctua NH-D14 Premium cooler - From big to bigger
A tremendous amount of manufacturers out there are making and offering heatpipe based coolers. And face it, anno 2009 there really aren't any 'horrible ones' being produced anymore. The market has stabilized in some sort of Zen mode and within the the entire range and scope of heatpipe based coolers there's a certain comfort zone, and as a result most of these coolers are all adequate at the very least.

Of course there are always exceptions to the rules. There's a handful of manufacturers out there that offer the really interesting stuff, the kit and gear that really stand out from the cooling crowd, the hardware you and me crave and need so badly.

Noctua is such a company. Ever since we got our grubby little paws on one of the first coolers they made, we were impressed. And to date that has not changed.
