Brahminy kites are best left soaring.they are such a wonderful thing to look at in the sky.As much as possible, pls do your part on conservation. You might see us handling this birds but we are giving back in return, which is awareness.Falconry is a noble sport unless practice by the wrong people. There are lots of things to consider in keeping this birds.First, they live up to 20yrs or even more. What are you gna do with them in such a long time?second, they need to fly everyday or at least 3-4 times a week. Can you let it?Third, they need variation of food according to their natural environment.Ie,quail, day old chicks, mice, other birds. Can you supply that? These were just few of the important things to consider. Not to mention the frustration when training this birds.Do you have the patience to wait for them to trust your hand? Its an uphill climb, not a smooth ride...
bitaw sir, as a vet student i'm conserving this birds, its my first time to do this...i'm not the type of person who goes around destroying nature and the species in it, useless akong pag take up ug Vet Med if mao na ako buot.. Don't worry sir im following your advices, what im going to do with it?? ill use the bird as an example of specie conservation programs, and conserving their habitat, in terms of letting the bird fly i can, we have a wide place in the province, in terms of food variety, i have variations of food in fact im breeding mice, fish? duol among house sa province ug fishport, sea, and market where fresh fish is available always ...Patience?? di pod cguro ko mag vet student if wala na nko na batasan, while the bird is learning i will also slowly learn its capability, attitude..me and the bird as one... I know it's an uphill climb entering falconry... if im not ready or responsible enough for this sport dili jud ko mo enter...
but ill be asking your help sooner or later...you can trust me Sir ar...if i fail mgpa priso ko for a week...

Thank you for reminding people of their social responsibility sir. As much as falconry looks 'cool', nobody should engage in it unless they have a real purpose of doing so...not just for the sake of it kay 'cool' daw. I've read some people's post here that they will go look for nests na so they can catch the little chicks in the hopes of training them. to you sirs, i hope you are aware of your social responsibility. the BOP that is taken in example here, the philippine hawk eagle (for example) is already a threatened specie and its numbers are dwindling in the wild. we must all know to put conservation first before all others....hehehe...just a friendly reminderi am not against falconry, for as long as the people involved are aware of CONSERVATION
thanks for the read. peace
