The article touches on the stages a photographer's behavior rests as time goes by. From the immature (amateur) stage going towards maturity - either as a passionate artist or as a professional shooting to make a living. At some point in time, a person owning a DSLR camera considers himself a "photographer" whose behavior smacks on the 7 levels. Though there will be exceptions most "photographers" can identify their behavior on one or two stages of the 7 levels. Admittedly, I passed through some of the levels and dwelt on one or two for sometime before outgrowing.

I see. In that case, I went through - Snapshooter and now I'm not in the list. I'm not an Amateur as defined in said list nor do I consider myself an Artist. Lisod pud i-describe ako photographer level. The article is somewhat accurate though albeit incomplete.

I can't seem to find any level that I could fit myself. But how I wish I could be a combination of rich amateur, Whore and Artist.

@headset: Ang nakanindot sa rich amateur kay maka-afford street photography sa Paris, New York, atbp. Maka-travel pud always diri sa Pinas and higit sa lahat, maka-afford hire mahalun na models. Hay maka-suya mani mga rich amateurs oi. Ako intawon, hulat lang naa public events.

@genghis: LOL. I agree with your statement. I'm not sure if you just described people like me though. Perhaps at some point I fit your description but right now my interests lies elsewhere. That's why I said Ken's list is lacking. I know I'm a good photographer and I find satisfaction in my serious photos, e.g., 'Spent a day with the Badjaos'.



Although I said I wait for public events to get a chance to shoot "models", that wasn't true, I no longer run out of the door every time there is one. I didn't even took a leave when Alodia Gosengfiao was here or Jahziel Manabat was one of the models in a recent car show.

I don't know if I should wait for the spark to come back, or that I just have too much on my hands with my other hobby. I'm not even sure that I could still take good photos without continued practice.

Whatever the case may be, it was a joy learning some photography and while I may no longer pursue it as passionately as others, I appreciated the friendships I've gained through it.
