Yes you actually can get a MIFI device that acts like a personal wifi hotspot that you can carry around in your pocket. The MIFI device will utilize 3G so that the iPad can connect to it as if connecting to WIFI and the great thing is it can be used anywhere there is a good 3G signal There is a thread dedicated to this here:

I think there should be stores that sell openline type mifi units. But they already do have them at Globe and Smart.
