This revolution has caused the entire Philippines to go downward spiral to the trenches. What's in the trenches? POVERTY! INJUSTICE! RULE OF THE OLIGARCHS!
bai mark, all your rantings about the oligarchs is valid.. but what can we do, they are all over us.. they were able to stop the rise of communism and socialism.. WALA NA TAY MABUHAT ANA bai.. mao na gyud na.. life is unfair..

the strengths of any uprising does not depend to the number of ordinary people visibly supporting it, its primary strengths relies heavily to the support of a number of political leaders, local leaders and its people.. the fact nga daghan local leaders ni oppose na ni Marcos, its more than enough nga maconsider nato ang EDSA as a nation's activity.. not just a manila activity..

We can do something! Support our legislators to push through the amendment of the 1987 constitution! Remove the oligarchic 60/40 rule. Amend the provisions that seem to be oligarchic. Support the freedom of information bill!

Apparently lots of legislators would oppose the amendment of the 1987 Constitution. Why?

These legislators own businesses and are considered oligarchs as well! If they amend it, it would be like hurting themselves.

What's more, our president's mother set this whole constitution up! So what do we expect? Noynoy would just allow his mother's constitution be amended? I don't think so

Probably we have to wait for Noynoy's term to end and that would be a good time the government would amend his MOTHER'S constitution.

But all this poverty we see? All the blame should be put to the epic fail revolution! The EDSA Revolution that brought the country to the slums!

that is good to hear. was there simultaneous public demonstrations too?
any idea about the other provinces? i'd really love to know.

I agree if Pnoy wanted to amend the constitution he should be the one encouraging the legislation at this moment. But I still hope that it will be changed since I favor parliamentary and federal over presidential and unitary.
I can't really see how did EDSA rev brought the country to its knees and I really hope someone can enlighten me...
my professor in masters had a long lecture about that last week but I was so stressed from the office at that time and slept in the lecture hall.

Thanks to ninoy, we lived in a free country today.
25 years ago we are not this free.

    curfew at night. 10 pm.
dakpon ang magsuroy suroy aning orasa.

you can not wear a fatigue jacket.
or you will be mistaken as a rebel.

they can arrest anyone for any reason.

    it was a military rule.
mediamen, priests, civilians were killed, no justice then.

business man much submit to the will of the government.
big companies has to give the marcoses some of their stocks and shares.

it was a dark era of phil history.

this video is clearly a marcos propaganda.

the marcoses stole central banks gold reserve and pretend it was a yamashita treasure.
but it was not. they just hired american jewelers to convert those gold bars into golden budhhas and sell them abroad.
