It's understandable baya na daghan jud ganahan ug call center. It's easy to get into unya dako ang basic salary. But if ang fresh grad naa jud abilidad gamay in his field, mas maayo unta piliun nya ang low-paying job na in line sa iya kurso kaysa call center diretso. Sacrifice lang gamay sa sugod ba, pang-experience lang. Later on, mu-pay off ra man na when more employers would look for your experienced-honed expertise.

I think ang point sa kadtong solar engineer is that daghay talent ug skills na na sayang kay ang mga fresh grad nagpadala sa easy (easy to enter at least) salary na gina-offer sa mga CCs, instead of pursuing their respective fields bahalag sugod sa pinaka-ubos na position.

Working in a call center is better than working abroad. It is my opinion you have your own view which is opposite. I keep mine, you keep yours unless you show me concrete, documented, reviewed , precise and statistically proven evidence.

i once thought like you that staying here was a good idea but then i understood the concept of OFWs and also read how south korea managed to put their country on the map by proper handling of ofw income (dollars and other currencies) to invest in their own country. it's a tedious and time consuming process but they are a living example of what you can do if your citizens work together. singapore is also another example of how well placed investments can put a country (even with 0 natural resources) on top. take note that tuldok ra gani na ang SG sa mapa, yet it is one of the greatest economic hubs in asia and one of the greatest sea ports in the world.

^^ Sakto jud kaayo ni Brad. As a real estate broker, lahi ra jud kung mag-abroad ka, kay mga 50% tingale sa akong clients, gikan abroad. Aside sa mga foreigners ug mga established na businessmen, mga OFWs ang pinaka-abtik mupalit ug mudevelop ug mga properties. Usually mga employed professionals working locally would buy residential houses and lots, pero kung mga henictaria na gani na raw lands, palaban jud ta sa mga OFWs. hehe ^_^

then can you tell us what option does these people who works at a call center have ?? people can easily make opinions but they don't even try to balance out everything. the call center industry has helped our country in a lot of ways, how can it deteriorate the society, all i see is our society has changed and evolved to adapt to the new lifestyle of call center agents, coz let's face it, most of our workforce right now are in call centers.

kung walay doctor, engineer, teacher, nurse who will do those jobs? you tell me dili ta modeteriorate ana? suwayi kuno kung mabuhi ang pinas wala nang mga trabahoa. you may want to face the "convenience" of having a CC as an easy access to a job but does a country thrive on one skill alone? don't forget also that there is still such a thing as "saturation". when that happens, the salaries go DOWN and NOT UP. that's the negative effects if you cluster your people into one skillset - the proverbial all eggs in one basket. Remember, what happened in the 90s when too many people took up nursing? A few months ago POEA advised nurses to "switch course". Saturated na ang job market. We should learn from that mistake unta. dili kanang naai sayop sigehon nag sayop.

and seriously, do you really want to evolve into the superficial and materialistic culture of call centers? we as a third world nation whose frugal lifestyle has enabled use to survive a global recession? i can think of a dozen things that makes it bad for us Filipinos.

yep. actually wala gyud koi mga alam ani mga butanga until last year. i keep reading about "invest in cebu", "invest in davao" or unsa pa investment diha. i got curious about what they meant. ang una ka example ana was real estate.

positive effect na siya sa bringing in foreign currencies. like you said kasagaran imo clients OFWs. kanang kwartaha gigamit invest for housing.

ing-ani man gud na mga bro para sa mga wala kasabot:
1) you spend your money you earned elsewhere in the phils
2) with that money it can be spent on housing.
3) you provide jobs for rank and file employees.
4) you provide income for developers, which in turn provide our skilled workers like architects, engineers and *cough* *cough* gov't officials.
5) with that money, the developer puts into a bank while not in use
6) the bank RE-INVESTS that money back into the market. and kay tungod forex man gud na they have dollar or euro reserves
7) which then gives them investing power for imports

That's just one example lang ha. real estate pa lang na. you can do this approach:
1) balik ka pinas. sugod negosyo
2) imo negosyo nanghatag ug trabaho ug mga pila ka tao.
3) imo taxes nanghatag ug income sa gov't (cough cough)
4) the gov't (if honest unta) uses that money to import or develop the country.

oh, the magic of this is that the people you paid for their salaries eventually need to spend their salaries on necessities. the money circulates. as long as money is in motion we will survive. magdungan ta tinihik patay ang pinas i guarantee you.

daghan gyud posibilidad mga bro. don't look down on OFWs as an exile or a punishment. they bring us the cash.
