CEBU, Philippines - The Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles soared high anew, this time against the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers whom they mercilessly demolished by 53 points, 96-43, to extend their winning streak to four games in a row in yesterday's secondary game of the 11th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) basketball season at the Cebu Coliseum.

Earlier, the Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) Greywolves escaped with a 66-63 win over the smaller University of San Carlos (USC) Baby Warriors for their second victory in four games.
Time has changed and for the Magis Eagles, they showed a lot of im-provements one year after they lost to the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Dragons in the finals. They defeated the same rivals last year only by six points, 78-72, but now they made sure that they have left the Baby Panthers dead.
Three Magis Eagles finished in double figures led by Julius Cadavis with 17 markers as they beat the Baby Panthers in the second half to the pulp after being just ahead by two at the intermission, 32-30.
The victory gave them a clean 4-0 slate in the company of the University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers. It rarely happened that the Magis Aaron Sing added 14 points while Patrick Go had 13 points for the Magis Eagles.
On the other hand, Stephen Nierre collected 25 points to lead the Junior Greywolves even as Jose Marlo Pono and Carmel Lex Mellijor chipped in 15 and 14 points, respectively.
The scores

The Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles kept their unbeaten record intact as they demolished the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Baby Panthers, 96-43, in the juniors division of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) basketball tournament yesterday at the Cebu Coliseum.
The win allowed last year’s runners-up to tie the idle University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers at the top of the standings with similar 4-0 (win-loss) records.
The way they routed their opponents yesterday though was a sight to behold as they zoomed ahead, 20-9, after the first period and extended that advantage to 32-16 at the turn
The third period was an awesome one for Ateneo as they scored 29 while allowing the Baby Panthers to scrounge up just 14 for an insurmountable 61-30 lead heading to the final canto.
Big man Julius Cadavis topped the winners with 17 while Aaron Sing tallied 14 spiked by four three-pointers.
USPF, on the other hand, suffered greatly from the measly eight-point output of Rommel Diapera.
The other juniors division game saw the University of San Carlos (USC) Baby Warriors kept winless as they were edged by the Don Bosco Greywolves, 66-63.
USC is now holding a 0-5 card while Don Bosco recovered from their two early setbacks to even their record out at 2-2.
In the seniors division, the USPF Panthers got back on the winning track as they destroyed the Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildcats, 82-71.
James Ferraren scored 23 for USPF while Joseph Sedurifa backed him up with 18 markers.
Allen Dimco had 29 for CIT-U, which fell to a league-worst 0-4.
Second game
SHS-AdC (96) - Cadavis 17, Sing 14, Go 13, Igna 9, Ochea 8, Suarez 7, Asilum 6, Catan 6, Yu 4, Cercado 3, Tecson 3

Pildihunon jud ang USPF kay Gaisanod is all alone... wala siya'y timbang. Game showed extreme inexperience of USPF coach and staff. Or was it incompetence Naay sayop ang total, there are 6 points missing sa SHS AdC scorecard. Ang wala mahisgot nga players: Lim, Ong, Competente
