Let us pray for the safety of the pilgrims as atheists and gay and Lesbian activists are sowing violence in Madrid as they protest against world youth day. Some nuns and priests were rebuked and ridiculed in the streets. Some pilgrims are defending the pope which earned the ire of the protesters. Please do pray that violence may not erupt within the celebration. Very alarming. Pilgrims knelt in prayer as demonstrators mocked them afront with angry face. Let us pray and be one with our brothers and sisters who are there in Madrid. May peace and calmness prevail.

Wa'y Sukod ang Pagmahal (Msgr Rudy Villanueva)

    Wa'y sukod man ang pagmahal
    Nga'lang kanako gipakita Mo
    Ang kamatayon walay gahum
    Sa pagbugnaw nianang dakong kalayo
    Hinonoa Siya midaug
    Ug sa kamatayon nakabuntog

    Kon sud'ongon Mong pagmahal
    Nga'lang Kanimo gipakita ko
    Halos Siya pagahisgutan
    Kay kini sinukod ug mabalhinon
    Pakita'on Mo na ako
    Sa hingpit Mong kaayo
Ug pasabta ako sa pagkamadanihon Mo

    Pun-a kining kasingkasing ko
    Sa gugma alang Kanimo

    LOVE WITHOUT RECOMPENSE

    LOVE THAT NEEDS NO RECOMPENSE.
LOVE THAT YOU HAVE FOR ME WILL NEVER END.
A LOVE MORE STRONG THAN DEATH HAD PAIN,
NOR HAD DEATH ANY POW’R ON YOUR LOVE’S SWEET FLAME.

ONE BRIEF STRUGGLE AND ALL WAS DONE.
DEATH WAS OVERCOME WITH LOVE THE CONQ’RING ONE
BUT A LOVE SO IN LOVE WITH GAIN,
LOVE EVER RISING, EVER ON THE WANE.

SUCH LOVE AS I SO OFTEN GIVE,
I’D BE SAD WERE I EXPECTED TO RECEIVE.
COME AND LET OUR TWO LOVES COMBINE,
DRAW TO YOURSELF THIS POOR HEART OF MINE.
FILL ITS EMPTINESS WITH THE LOVE YOU HAVE LONGED TO FIND.

THEN THIS NEW LOVE WILL BE MINE TO GIVE,
AND GIVE AGAIN AS LONG AS I SHALL LIVE.

Go to See Blessed Pedro Calungsod Song

There was once a lad from the Visayas
Left his land in search for graceless souls
He Spread God’s words with lips untiring
He is the servant of the Lord

    Chorus:
    O Blessed Pedro Calungsod
    Faithful Child of God
    Be to us a guide
Lead us to the light of Jesus Christ
    O Blessed Pedro Calungsod
Our young inspire in the darkest hour
Look down on us from where you are

Steadfastly you walk where Jesus trod
Never mindful of what’s left behind
We entrust the young to your watchful care
Walk with them and never leave their side

You chose to die with Padre Diego
But your faith in God remains undying
Be to us a true companion
When at the end death closes in

    (repeat chorus)

Reflection ~on Devotional Reading -Dr. James Houston (Fr. the Book~St. Teresa of Avila)

"In Christ we also discover that it is not God's personhood that is vague and intangible. It is our own personalities that are incoherent, bitty and inadequate."

    Awakening...

"...we find that life consists of a number of progressive awakenings. When we first study seriously, we are excited by the awakening of our mind's activity to reasoning and understanding in our world. We awaken again in the experience of taking responsibility for our lives when we have to be decisive about major acts or decisions. We awaken also when we are acted upon suffering.
For pain is a great awakener to realities that had previously slumbered in our lives. But it is the awakening to the love of God that transcends all other forms of human consciousness

Today we are in grave danger of politicizing our faith, organizing it to death, and making it a cold ideology. We need once more to stand still and to see God. Then we shall begin to live again more like a child of God than like an entrepreneur before men.

    Deep emotions will be reopened.
Memories will begin to be healed.
    The imagination will be redirected.
And whole new possibilities will open out of dead-end streets.
    Hope will succeed despair
    Friendship will replace alienation

For we wake up one morning and discover we really are free to fall in love with God

He quoted from a medieval scholar monk ~(on the fourfould meaning of the Scriptures)

    "The letter (Scripture) shows us what God and our fathers did;
    The allegory shows us where faith is hid;
    The moral meaning gives us rules of daily life;
The analogy shows us where we end our strife."

So open the windows of your soul in meditative reading...as Paul prays," exceeding abundantly, above all that we can ask or think."

    Good day.

    Dear Lord,

Life never ceases to overwhelm me!
    Overwork proves I'm alive
Would a relaxed mind, trouble- free heart be much to ask?
The gift of waking up each brand new day
    These people around,I love....
    Thank you....
    Burnt out me though
The power of words, the faculty to speak of gratitude
    I sing to you

With each new day that dawns I am growing up, O Lord.
It's not too soon to start thinking of what I want to be.
    It's very hard, I think,
    to make the right decision
but I pray that you will help and guide me.
    Show me what to do,
    let me share, someday,
    my talents where they're needed.
    And when you show me,
give me courage to be generous enough
to do what you want. Amen

    A Reflection from Mother Teresa

It is easy to love the people far away. It is not always easy to
love those close to us. It is easier to give a cup of rice to relieve
hunger than to relieve the loneliness and pain of someone unloved
in our own home. Bring love into your home for this is where our
love for each other must start.

    On giving and serving others

Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person.

If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one.

    Spiritual Childhood

"To be a child means not to worry - the Father is doing all the worrying."

"To be a child means to enjoy what you are given because everything is a grace, everything is a gift given to you not because you deserve it but because God is good."

To be a child means accepting and using even your failings and your sins. "Look at kids," St. Therese writes to Celine, "they break things, they tear up paper, they fall even if they love their parents and their parents keep loving them all the same." To her missionary she writes : "We do not want to fall, ever! How stupid we are!!" "Make it clear, Mother, that if I had committed all possible crimes, I would still have the same confidence. I would feel that this multitude of offenses would be like a drop of water cast into a blazing fire." If the dad calls him, the child does not bother to clean himself before running to embrace him.

    We have grown...

A simple story to conclude. When Schia was 4 years old, her baby brother was born. Little Schia began to ask her parents to leave her alone with the new baby. They worried that, like most 4-year-olds, she might want to hit or shake him, so they said no. Over time, though, since Schia wasn't showing signs of jealousy, they changed their minds and decided to let Schia have her private conference with the baby. Elated, Schia went into the baby's room and shut the door, but it opened a crack - enough for her curious parents to peek in and listen. They saw little Schia walk quietly up to her baby brother, put her face close to his, and say, "Baby, tell me what God feels like. I'm starting to forget." (AOL Illustrations)

Perhaps we have grown older and have forgotten how God is like. Therese tells us today that it is not too late to return and enter the kingdom of God like a little child (Mark 10:15).
