Why would the US Navy need to enter the Strait of Hormuz?
If ever an attack would happen they would strike with cruise missiles first and take out most if not all the Iranian defenses. Next would be airstrikes.
By the time a carrier group would enter the Strait of Hormuz there would not be much left to be fired at them and anything that is still working would be taken care of by the missile defense systems/ships that are in the battle group.
Do you think they wont anticipate that tactic?
USN strategy is very predictable. First stage - Tomahawk cruise missles which will take out point defence only. Remember these coastal defence are mobile not static target. They can always wait for the Battle Groups to come in.

Because their economy is still booming no matter the inflation and the negative predictions constantly being fired by Western allies anti Chinese media (PH included), and US economy is still going into recession no matter the positive media hype. Why in the world would they risk their wealth going into war with dumbasses that keeps maintaining multi trillion dollar fleets just for the sake of their pride while everyone is already capable of defending themselves if time arrives. If US plays another proxy war in Asia for economic gains no one will stand for it.
The US goes to war for their economy, they sell weapons, they gain a lot from lending for infastructure rebuilding from flattened nations and they acquire strategic resources of the devasted country since that country is either broke, intimidated and probably black mailed into the deal. Think about it, why the hell would Iraq give its oil to the US when they can sell them at regular expensive tags to the rest of the planet. Iraq is one of the biggest war for oil in US history, Saddam was merely a scapegoat for US propaganda for the allies to gain a footing of trust for the local anti western population.
Did you even see Russia challenging the US in their navy? the only time they would challenge the US is when the US tried to put missiles near their borders like what they did in Cuba way back Cold War days, look at Russia's economy now compared to the soviet days, look at the US economy and where its headed.
Another thing, the US won't risk going to war with any nation that can cripple or damage any of their fleet because they know for a fact that once they show weakness those so called allies of theirs that also hate them so much will show their colors. They loose their fleet they loose every form of influence on opposing states and their inland military wont count for much since they are too far away for any engagement.(Remeber Colonial Spain??)
If the US will go to war againts China and win, the damage they would sustain will be more than enough for Russia or Nato to finish them off. Nato isn't on the US side btw they also have their own interest, the media is just for show.
Iran adopted Russia and China defense strategy, mobile defense units that can withdraw from danger and engage only when needed. Mobile SAMS and Missile trucks, they are cheap, effective and can be producded in huge numbers in less amount of time, I mean its a truck mounted with a missile system, It doens't have to look good as long the thing sinks a ship or two then its all good.
But Iran probably has nukes already, any nation with intent on acquiring weapons would probably downplay the topic, unless some idiot nation like Georgia decideds to have a go then they can test their nukes on them.
Actually it happened in 1971 during the India-Pakistan War @ Bay of Bengal.
Russian vs. Americans in Bengal Bay, 1971.
"The Chief Commander has order me: 'Lift the subs when they (the Americans) appear!' It was done to demonstrate, there are all the needed in Indian Ocean, including the nuclear submarines. I have lifted them, and they recognized it. Then, we intercepted the American communication. The commander of the Carrier Battle Group was then the counter-admiral Dimon Gordon. He sent the report to the 7th American Fleet Commander: 'Sir, we are too late. There are the Russian atomic submarines here, and a big collection of the battleships'.
