Default Organizing our own hands-on programming study group

Hi everyone. I've been reading the posts here and I find that many people are interested in learning web programming, and many others are also willing to teach and share their knowledge.

Now here's an idea based on several posts I've seen here. If there are enough people willing to join, we could create our small team of beginner and intermediate programmers. Experts are also very much welcome to share your expertise with us.

    What we could do:
    - Meet up online through chat groups/forums and occasionally meet up in person to discuss/get to know each other and discuss what we do.
    - Each month (or every two months), we can focus on a topic and have a small project to be decided by the group. I'm suggesting one project for each of the following:
    - Desktop application using C#
    - Web application using C#
    - Web application using PHP
    - Other systems to be discussed later on
    - Studying should be done individually, but learning should be done by the group. This means that you should not be dependent on another person to teach you everything. You have to do your part in studying too, but if ever you come across problems that you just can't solve no matter how much you've researched, you can ask for help from the others. (no spoonfeeding!)
    - When we're already skilled enough, we could create our own group and accept sideline projects as a team.

I seem to find it more conducive to learning if there are other people to discuss with. And mas maka-gana ug tuon.

Yeah I noticed that thread too, but from what I gathered, that was more like a teacher-student (classroom) type of environment.

What I was trying to propose here is more of a group effort. We meet, discuss what we will study for the month, do our own individual studying (and have group discussions in case of problems encountered along the way) and then have a group project. As in the whole SDLC process.

I don't think it's what everyone wants though. We have different learning curves and some actually prefer to be spoonfed.
