4 x 2GB or 2 X 4GB? <--- the higher the ram modules the quicker your pc scans or access certain data on your system.

you should also take a look at the frequency your ram is working on the higher the frequency the faster it computes data results basically needed for programming, rendering, graphic editing, gaming, etc.

note: a 4gig ram with frequency of 800 MHz is 2-3 times slower than a 1gig ram with frequency of 1600 MHz, though a 4gig ram can access more applications/data than the 1gig ram.

    i hope this will help.

It will take less time to troubleshoot two modules compared to four. And for future-proofing if your mobo got 4 memory slots and you want to reserve the extra two for future upgrades in case the need for more ram arises. Also in overclocking, four sticks can lead to unexpected instabilities so most prefer two.

In real time usage scenario slow performance resulting from having insufficient ram is miles noticeable than comparing low frequency from high frequency ram.

correct but not the case with the advance users who needs fast computing systems..

I just think your statement declaring 4gb ddr2-800 ram to be 2-3 times slower than a gig of ddr3-1600 ram is an overkill. To think you have come up with those numbers I assume you tried it out already? So these advanced users you talking about who uses say Adobe Photoshop or any rendering tasks is better off with a stick of 1gb ddr3-1600 than 4gb of ddr2-800 ram? Or could you be referring to users who uses Super P.I or Sandra Memory benchmark who loves boasting their scores in the web?

ok dude i meant no disrespect i think you are over reacting it was just an example to let them see a bigger picture.

i think nakig lalis naman ka instead of sharing ideas, if ganahan ka sweto ka aw i give the crown to you it's all yours, and be the king. i was just sharing here to let them see and compare between big memory and speed for them to weight it over depending sa ila needs. i'm just giving ideas i don't insist kay in my p.o.v. maybe there are guys here who needs only better memory or better speed or even both atleast kabaw cla asa cla mupili. who know naa dha nagbasa who happens to be the guys who love to juice up their rigs more than what you are thinking.

so no pressure dude just chill out.

that is correct. if you have a 1GB 1600 ddr3 ram, your os will most likely page everytime it runs out of memory and it will make a lot of difference in terms of performance and speed. I'd still go with 4GB ddr2 rather than have 1GB of ddr3. less paging to disk, better performance overall.

@TS akong gitan-aw nako imong QVL list to my understanding there`s a reason behind ani nganong duha ra kabu-ok single 4GB lista sa QVL memory ang compatible sa imong mobo SAMSUNG M378B5273BH1-CF8 4096MB DS SAMSUNG K4B2G0846B-HCF8 8(7-7-7-20) 1.5 @1066 MHZ ug KINGSTON KVR1066D3N7/4G 4096MB DS SAMSUNG K4B2G0846B-HCF8 1066-7-7-7-20 1.5 @ 1066 MHZ >>> QVL List

infact your mobo can support up to DDR3-2133MHz so nadoubtful sad kog apil so kung ako papili-on ko kini ako ang choice OCZ OCZ3X16004GK 4096MB(Kit of 2) DS N/A Heat-Sink Package 7-7-7-20 1.9 DDR 3 1600 MHZ

hugot2x gyud nig timing @ 1600 MHZ and OCZ is known to use power chips that is higher than their rated timings and frequencies, so kung gi rate na nila ug 1600 MHZ most probably 1800-2000 MHZ na nga mga power chips, more fun to you kung i-push pa nimo
