Ok, since China really wants to use it's aircraft carrier, why not challenge USS John Stennis? The US Aircraft Carrier that will be dispatched to show their commitment to defend PHL from any aggressor. I'm sure they're just all hype. What can a "refurbished" Soviet ere aircraft carrier do against a modern US Aircraft carrier?

Nothing, that's bec that carrier is going to be used for testing and experiments only, They will develop their own design minus the flaws of the Russian and US design. They can actually challenge the US carrier fleet, by sheer number of diesel attack subs which China is still currently producing in huge numbers. Arm those with supersonic torpedos and its a done deal.

As for taiwan having missiles is not new, China is already has anti ship ballistic missiles even India and Iran have those and Eastern nations are currently researching on Supersonic Anti Ship Ballistic Missiles that can wipeout entire naval fleets in one go.

Carriers do little in actual war againts nations with missile capabilities, The US has been going to war againts 3rd world nations that only have rpgs for defence, Give Propaganda a clap for making their fleet seem even more invinsible. They learned quite a lot from Hitler and his War Machine Propaganda, best examples are the Tiger Tanks which was flawed in every possible way except for its turret and gun.
