My comments on this photo. The elements in this photo are competing for attention. The tree? Or the Volcano on the background. There's nothing interesting about the tree yet it is occupying a big part of the photo. The photo could be telling us about the destructive power of nature (volcano erupting) but that doesn't seem to be the cause to whatever happened to the tree in the foreground.
I'd rather use those dead(?) foliage (lower left corner) as foreground to support the message of how destructive nature can be. Or the green foliage on the lower right corner as foreground to support the message that no matter what, life will always find a way.
Then again, if I was there with you, I'll probably be overwhelmed by the scene and just shoot like crazy haha
Agreed and points taken. Nothing special so I did not publish this photo publicly in Flicker but since you are curious about different time of the day. This photo was taken close to our hotel.
We are very unfortunate to get the ultimate of the sunrise on the first day. We had to climb on very dangerous trail to get to higher point just to see the four peaks around Mt Bromo but only to see fogs and no visibility at all. So we are planning to go back there this year and try again.
