The piece was a winner of the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art's "Awards in the Visual Arts" competition,[1] which is sponsored in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, a United States Government agency that offers support and funding for artistic projects.

Kini Art ^_^. the artist characterizes it as mysterious and beautiful.

@butitoy: i mentioned the crusades to underline the point that the views taught by the catholic church are not always right. i am making a historical point (much like you are making a hysterical one )

regarding hitler's purge of the jews, read up on hitler and christianity. you'll get it. also, i think pope jhn paul II issued an apology about this, decades after the church just stood aside and allowed the mass murder of thousands of people. here's a link for you.

if i were jesus, this kind of stuff would not have had to happen. i'd have destroyed the roman catholic church the day it was created. jesus spent his life preaching about faith being a personal relationship between man and god and the roman catholic church took that away and made it between a person, the church, then god.

if the teachings of jesus had not been abducted and warped by the church, people like you butitoy would have to think for yourself and be responsible for your faith. you wouldn't count yourself saved just because you lined up in a big building, said the required prayers, knelt the required number of times and paid the required tithes.

you would actually have to bear the burdens of your fellow man, give him the compassion you would reserve for your kids and yourself and you would actually have to act every second knowing that any mistake you make is a mistake you are accountable for not to church or to god but to yourself. you'd know that a sin can't be forgiven just by telling some church-appointed person about it in secret, that you can't buy your way to heaven by donating to the church, that you can't cop out of the burden of sin because the first one you sin against is yourself.

i don't have this person's personal number but if i did, i wouldn't dare him with what you are daring him. you know why? because you don't get it. you don't get what his work was about. you didn't even take the time to research what the display was all about, what theme he was working under. all you do is post here, all hell and brimstone thinking you are winning one for god. you are not. you are winning one for the church.

also, while the church does not specifically teach killing, it does its fair share of it.

that's why i said, it's history.the church had made a lot of moves and teachings to correct the ill decision of the early fathers of the church, 1st vatical council, the 2ns vatical council so.do not live on the past grievances, it makes u vengeful. MOVE ON.
and no religion made it right, mind you if we are stating world history here.google if u want to know more.

second. i'm not hysterical.do not judge, u don't know me personally.

because it's a teaching of Christ to be compassionate, even to the people who called them dogs ( the jews ), that even it's not the Roman Catholics plight the plight of the persecuted jews, church called itself obliged to mediate for the jews being the brothers in blood of Christ. but History have it that in all parts of europe, in the hospitals, the nuns are taking care of the sick and victims of war.

GOOD THING, you are not! otherwise it make u stupid and foolish.be thankful you are not. because for one, u will be a disgrace of the ONE who sent u.

Christ knows very well this will stupidity of HIS disciples up to now, that's why HE just summarize the law and commandments.
LOVE GOD with all you heart , with all your mind and with all you strength
and LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR as yourself.

and that between a person , the church and GOD, it was very well answered with the 2nd Vatican Council. read more

wrong again.we are living in modern times wherein , we have access to truth about faith.

saved by numbers of prayers | kneeling ? are you sane? that can never save a man. who ever said that to you, extend my kick in the face. its never a teaching in the catholic church

tithe is another issue.to simply put it..ignorance for those who do not know and abuse for those abuse the fact that it is indeed a teaching of the church since the beginning.it's in the bible, since Abel and Cain

AND IT"S NOT JUST WITH THE ROMAN CATHOLIC!
have a church hooping, ask them different religions about it

you would actually have to bear the burdens of your fellow man, give him the compassion you would reserve for your kids and yourself and you would actually have to act every second knowing that any mistake you make is a mistake you are accountable for not to church or to god but to yourself. you'd know that a sin can't be forgiven just by telling some church-appointed person about it in secret, that you can't buy your way to heaven by donating to the church, that you can't cop out of the burden of sin because the first one you sin against is yourself.
i can not say more. u know the idea, just apply it. if you know someone is buying their way to heaven, let them try.

DO NOT JUDGE because people shout blasphemous if you adore such you called art using images icon we say holy.

and this is not against just the Catholics, but all the Catholics in general, and maybe its just the RC who are speaking in public because, mao ray sikat.

and taking time to research to understand his stupid works and time he has taken..
i dont care mind you. i appreciate art as long as it does not degrade .

what he had done is degrading the Christians.

you maybe can not understand it , maybe because you are not Christian

and if you are a christian, you do not understand it.

    a very well said statement.

there are no boundaries in Art but imagination

but there is a boundary on subject if you adhere on the word respect

    it just common sense

    but IT'S HIGHLY UNCOMMON.

    i rest my case.
