It is illegal to capture and sell Sailfin Water Dragons (ibid) in the Philippines.

But just incase you do have one, please do make sure that they have a big place with a nice pool. I pitty these dragons and they way they are kept in cages that cause their mouth snouts to wound and rot. Please make sure to keep them in cages with glass low glass or acrylic walls to avoid this.

we recently learned that it is ok to sell CAPTIVE BRED sailfin lizards. all the while i thought it was illegal since they are endemic AND threatened already. regardless, conservation efforts of this specie is on going in several facilities all over the Philippines. i hope people will stop catching and selling them

True, I wish someone would just start selling the legal way and I am sure these will be more easy to house break than wild caught ones. Do you breed them Jan? I think you should These are nice dragons to keep. I use to have a few before, I bought them out of pitty when I saw the way they were kept and sold

    They didn't last long.

Even the Toko thing. I hope someone will just start a farm soon and leave the wild ones behind.

Yes we are preparing for this project and hopefully next year we will be successful. Majority of our lizards are males but recently we were able to get some females so hopefully next year will be the year The wild ones are especially hard to keep and also a challenge to breed. I know what you mean about buying out of pity, i think i've done that a few times too. haha...its so sad seeing them like that.

we'll leave the toko thing to gilbz
