Ako I'm not fond of the church but even I know this is not a means to defeat them. And besides, that effort is a done deal. Catholicism is dwindling every few years.
I agree in some of this bro and always consider this that TRUE CHRISTIANITY will never be quenced! coz it is a done deal in the cross of Christ. Even how many times the world attempts to abolish it by killing its followers and burning the bibles.

This work, like most other works, indeed started out as a private exhibit. Dugay naman ni. Then in 2002 it was noticed by art critics, art scholars from UP, and thus it was displayed at the Vargas Hall of UP Diliman. It had SCHOLARLY sanction, and was deemed "culturally relevant" by ART EXPERTS. And THUS it was felt worthy to be displayed in the CCP.

bai, that's a little too single-sided. Some artists DO create their works to protest. Even during the renaissance era there were also artists may have at least indirectly made allusions to a protest.

I used to teach art history and the Humanities. I was sanctioned by the STATE to teach this, because I was deemed qualified and capable, under the standards set by this country's educational system. So now you're saying that if I declare this work as done by a REAL artist, with the blessings of this country's top art scholars and critics (which is the reason why it ended up in the CCP in the first place, abi siguro ninyo ing-ana ra ka-sayon nga madisplay ang usa ka art work sa CCP?), that I am IN NO AUTHORITY to say this, considering that I UNDERWENT TRAINING on this matter? Nga sayop ko?

This artwork was SANCTIONED by our nation's leading art critics, art scholars, and art historians--that's why it got displayed in the CCP. Complain to THESE CRITICS AND SCHOLARS, do not complain to this forum--you're just coercing the readers of this thread to think and act like you do, rather than think for themselves.

All I care for is that , it will be accepted and acknowledge that the artist was very DISRESPECTFUL by using it as a MEDIUM .

If scholars deem it as an ART which is the beauty of it was apprreciated by them , who am I to tell everyone what not to like and appreciate ? But I can tell and it doesnt take a SCHOLAR either that naay OTIN ga bitay sa KUROS is something that is not morally acceptable . Even Dawkins would even consider it as INAPPROPRIATE in light of the CHURCH wether he likes it or not but basing on the level of his intelligence .

    @ TOKI DOKI ...

Yes a form of protest but not by being a REVOLUTIONARTY trying to make a REVOLUTION out of its artworks .

Daghang artworks ni exist na obvious kaayo na PROPAGANDA yet this are in good taste and very acceptable by the educated people .

Good morning to all , and now I REST MY CASE .

I just hope that the REALIZATION wont take that long .
