Atheist is a bad person?

m a catholic but i dont practice my faith, dus that make me an atheist? i practice a good lifestyle in dealing w other people, wat difference do i make from those people going to church yet committing grave faults to others... i know some people hu doesnt have a religion but act better than people w "faith"... i ges religion s juz a choice for a way of life...

same here @trefoil... though i have another definition of the word religion... akoa ra ni ha, no hurt feelings sa diehard sa ilang religion... for me, religion nowadays is a "status symbol" na lang. people (mostly) go to church but never follow what they've heard from the sermons... adto ra sa church aron ingnon na misimba and feel that they belong to a religion... OT na ba?

my dear dont generalize it only makes the obvious more obvious.... that you are ignorant. Reality check? Just because there are people who aspire for The Good aided with their Religion doesnt mean they are impervious from being Bad... Reality Checked.

i am not an atheist myself... i belive in God, the creator of heaven and earth... but that belief does not put me in a position to judge the atheists as 'bad' or 'ignorant' or whatever...

Yes, it is a mistake to generalize people who go to church. Some still go to Church for the very essence of it and still practice the teachings of their religion. But sad to say, it is a disappointment that a lot of them are actually not into that. People go to church for the sheer concept of appeasing thier parents. Others, out of habit of being in church during sundays but does not necessarily go there to pray. Some on the other hand, like someone I know, go to church but actually does not believe in the religion or what the church teaches. I think it is better to be not a hypocrit.

being a believer is not synonymous to goodness...


so regardless of the principle, ideals or beliefs that you wrapped yourself into .... it is what you do towards others and to yourself that defines the kind of person you are.

Our religion teacher, a cathecist priest in High School once told us..

THERE IS NO SALVATION OUTSIDE THE CHURCH...

But the question is, who are the member of the Church? Then he listed..

1. Catholics
2. Fellow Christians
3. Muslims and other religions
4. Atheist


As long as you do good to your fellow man, you are still inside the walls of the Church.. even if you don't believe in God or Jesus Christ..

Do you speak from experience? whether or not they believe the tenets of their religion or not, there is no doubt that religion plays apart in the culture of Society for religion is not passive, it seeps down to the social mentality of people, So if they are hypocrites or not as long as they continue to have the smallest tinge of their religion in themselves then of course there will always be hope for conversion, even atheists return back to the fold of a belief in God.

i don't think atheism and non-sectarianism (not affiliated to any religion or sect) is synonymous. they might have a little connection but there's a clear line between these things. not going to church does not necessarily mean a person is an atheist... it could be that the person believes in God, unfortunately though, that same person has not found 'the religion', just yet...
