Exactly. "It is a forum anyway." This statement also gives me the freedom to criticize the sort of threads that are being started in the boards. Double-edged sword.

there's a big difference between TAGALOG and FILIPINO
Tagalog is only one dialect of the FILIPINO language.
just like Cebuano or Binisaya. it is also a dialect of the Filipino language

its just like when someone asked you what is your nationality,
you dont say im a cebuano nor i am tagalog
you answer and say that i am FILIPINO

Cebuano is usually referred to simply as Bisaya.

They try to separate bisaya from Cebuano. Cebuano is the language and Bisaya is just a classification so that they will deny the fact that Cebuano is the major language in Philippines and that even Tagalog originates from Cebuano language

there is no establishment that Cebuano is a language
it's only due to the fact that some or most of us cebuanos wanted to have a separate or own identity as "Cebuanos" rather than just the broader Visayan or "Bisaya"

I dunno we cebuanos cry out when manila or tagalogs try to look down on us in a discriminatively manner and other fellow "bisaya" or anyone from the visayas than just cebu, yet we don't even want to associate ourselves to the rest of the bisaya---esp those from negros, bohol, leyte or remote provinces in the visayas region
