from what I have learned, we have the most complete record of pre-colonial life in the philippines. Why is it not taught in history books?

Time to revisit our past and teach our children that we, Visayans, and Cebuanos have reach cultural past and that we are more Filipinos than the Tagalogs.

As a matter of fact, Tagalog is a variant of Cebuano language. it is even a substrate of Cebuano. You can ask any historian of Cebuano history and you will be getting the same nod. Cebuano is the language that has been dominant. Tagalog is a variant language which literaly means Taga sulog or the people of the waves. They are the people who came from Visayas from who have the same language and culture. But blending with Kapampangan, they became tagalog which is entirely a Visayan language but has evolved itself.

They are just blessed with high plains that is why the Spaniards put the capital in May nilad. or Naay nilad.
Can't you see that our language are just the same as theirs and it turn out that we are a dialect where in fact they are the dialect and we are the main language.

Amaya puts into light the significance of Cebuano culture or the Visayan as a whole who belonged to the Sri Vijaya empire. They are the exiles of the Sri Vijaya empire and belonged to this sea empire.

Our Tausug brothers are the same with us. That is why if you study the ethnicity of the Tausug from other Muslims like Maranaos, the Maranaos see Tausug as people who are not true to Islam. it is because the Tausug shares the same language with Cebuano and they also share the same beliefs before they were Islamized. The Maranaos are proselytizers of Islam and the Tausug are the people of the waves who are also just like the Cebuanos.
