There have been articles and blogs surfacing that have been pleading to the public to stop negative attacks against this person, particularly in social networking sites around the internet.

Let's first examine the main reason WHY these attacks are being made in the first place. The most noticeable aspect of the video is NOT the sorry plight of this person, not his misfortune, nor even his lack of foresight, or his miscalculation. Those trying to defend him should watch the video again and realize what the public in general is reacting against, is his manner of explaining WHY he got into that situation. It was his indignant, arrogant, and somewhat cynical attitude that irked most people. Well anyone perhaps, has the right to be indignant, arrogant, and cynical, but he obviously knew he was being interviewed in PUBLIC television, so he should have known better to exercise TACT and the proper DECORUM. Instead, he BLAMES the general public LIVE on public television, for his misfortune--a situation of his own doing. The result? The general public sat on his face.

That's all there is to this story.

On a further note, the law dean said (in defense of this person), “You may be amused by the mistakes or misfortunes of others. But this does not entitle you to degrade their entire character or make conclusions about their whole person.” Uhm, riiiiight. He's obviously still living in the pre-1990's (when there was as yet no internet). Even if our own people ceased to post neggies about this person, what's preventing the rest of the world from ridiculing him?
