Direct x 10...... is it really important

probably and hopefully next year. DX10 based GPUs will be the trend, and since most of us here in the forums are using DX9 cards, i think ds topic should be considered. i guess some few well-off people in the forums are using the 7600-7+++ GTS and the X19++ GPUs who would be able to spend more money for the upcoming DX10 cards

my primary concern are the guys and gals including myself, who had tight budget for GPUs..... i think that some of you are now using mid range GPUs..that are still DX9.

i guess majority of the people im addressing now are having slight comsumer regrets about our choice of immediately buying the current GPUs today.

in my case im still Using my Intel GMA 900 IGP.....so im still holding my money....because of the issue im bringing now.

i know wat u mean,...... they just keep coming out with new GPU's every month (or something like that,... thats what it seems like to me)

im one of those people that bought a new GPU when it just came out,... and also other pruducts,.... and lookin' at the same product now,.... they cost half the price as they did when they came out,.... or even less now,....

i do plan to upgrade to a DX10,..... but i dont know if i should upgrade my v-card when DX10 comes out,..... or wait untill 4th quarter of 07',...... when the prices start to drop,.... waiting untll the prices drop will be a smart move for me,..... usually the first batch of a new products (in this case the DX10) have some or little problems / bugs / glitches,.... so hopefully when the prices drop,.... the bugs / glitches will already be fixed,......

i think my 7800 GTX OC can still hang with the up coming games of 2007,....

usually, highend cards will be the first to come out. therefore, looking at the trend this may be more or less the same starting price of 79XX cards when it first came out. so if you want to buy a DX10 card on the first half of the year then you will have a budget of around 30K+. i think i'll stick with my 7300GT coz i don't want to spend more than 10K on a video card.

I think this will be the trend and it keeps evolving, beside this is really an improvement of technology. I believe nobody wants to go back, we should move on. Otherwise, there no such thing as improvement if we stop. There is no contentment, we always look for improvement. We should be thankful that technology go on, not halting. Good gaming for eveyone.

on my point of view, the software industry gains the upperhand on dictating demands for the hardware industry. The end user suffers greatly on this dilema. I hope they'll have a consortium to put allowance on the implementation to the software-hardware collaboration.

i bet there'll be Directx 11 in the near future... and there'll be the Geforce 9 series lol
