wala gihapon ka ka-connect? unsa may error message nakabutang? wala ra?

front end: MS ACCESS form
Comp IP: 192.168.11.1
Back end: MySQL
Comp IP: 192.168.11.21
unsaon nko pg connect sa akoa front end to back end..
if usa ra ka comp akoa gamit mka connect cya:
ODBC: mao n akoa set up
host: localhost
port:3306
username: root
mka connect n cya
but akoa prob if lain comp na akoa Back end dli mka connect
naay error na "cannot connect to localhost"
ODBC set up
host:192.168.11.21/localhost
port:3306
username:root

bai...ang username naa mana... root@localhost kalimot lang ko unsa term ani.
kahinanglan ni nimo i-setup sa mysql server nimo. You need to edit or add an account to make it so it would look like this.
root@% => para remote access sa root.
Otherwise
Username@% => would work as well but then dependent kung unsa right niya sa server.
Kung localhost bai, imo na pc nga gigamit...in your case front end nimo.
^^ sakto jud ka sir. i think ang access rights ang problem sa iyang user. correct me if i'm wrong, but i think ang term ana kay "user privilege".

mga bro.. need ba ibutang akoa back end mysql sa windows server pra mka connect ang akoa lain comp na tua ang akoa front end? basin mao ni problema..
btw... mura btw user privilege ni ang problema...
Check if the user is granted the permissions, you need to check if there are other things you need to do as I haven't touched MySQL for ages and some search hits hints some SSL support, you may need to create self-certifications if this is required. MySQL server does not need to be on the same OS platform as the client app.
