When you plan to join an event you should accept the risk nga something like this will ever happen. No event is bound to be perfect manjud.

commeted ang mga tao nagpalista bcoz for the event but e.lower ang slots into 5 dat not the risks becoz if you post an event and let people join,dapat ensure na daan ang event na mdaun...dats not the point bai na mu take risk ang nangapil coz an event like this must be finalize before letting people to join!!

ikaw organizer before nmu ipa public ang event dapat naa mu papers na signan sa n.u sabot w/ the top organizer..mao na naka sayop! you dont have papers para maka padaun ka sa imu g.organize.!

thats not a Good risk para sa mga tao nagpalista! reasonz cannot be accepted coz its not a good reason sa mga tao diri...

These are my thoughts.

Project X is a sub-event / sub-category under ROOTCON to serve the community of Gaming / PC
enthusiasts. The event attendees of ROOTCON are targeted IT professionals. Not just ordinary walk-in
like you saw in the SM Trade Hall. These are top notch professionals (IT Managers, MIS Director, Security
Analysts, etc) from different organizations coming from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

The participants of ROOTCON 5 for 2 days are the same 155 people you will mingle with you. From 125
they increase to 155 due to public demand and there are individuals who are begging to increase the
maximum sitting capacity.

Project X is my initiative actually because I want to serve the community. Like you, I like the gaming
stuff. I hope you share the same passion and interest with me as I also need a committee for Project X
2012. I also need a team to help me with a website for Project X.

Whoever will join the 5 rigs on September 9 – 10, 2011 will automatically be the crew / committee for
Project X for ROOTCON 2012. And I hope these same 5 participants will join and support me during ups
and downs.

As discussed with the people behind ROOTCON, they explained to me that ROOTCON is not owned and
managed by any companies or any vendors. With that alone ROOTCON is supported by professionals
who help grow the InfoSec / IT Community. They call these selected IT professionals as their goons
(crew). They undergo probationary as well. They have around 15 goons, majority is from Manila and
few from Cebu.

When I presented the idea of Project X to ROOTCON during the planning stage, they like the concept
and they supported me the best that they could offer. Since ROOTCON is not owned by a company, I
took the liberty to look for sponsors for Project X.

Due to time constraint and we have only 1 month to go, I have difficulty looking for sponsors and
address all your concerns including the food for the participants of Project X. That’s the reason why
ROOTCON has to adjust whatever is inside the venue.

ROOTCON informed me that in-order to launch Project X this year; the best that they could offer is
provide 5 slots for Project X. If we have 30 rigs they cannot shoulder anymore the electricity charge for
the 2 days event.

Remember, those who will join Project X have no registration fee, no official ROOTCON T-Shirt and no
food. The only advantage you get is witness the event, attend the seminar talks, witness the hacking
contest, increase your professional network, display your rig and who knows there might be individuals
who would be interested to get your number and help them with their own rig. From these 5 rigs, I
hope Project X will grow in the next year to come.

I know we have this community but the question sometimes is this: Do we have lots of public event that
caters like Project X here in cebu? Good thing there is ROOTCON who supports us even with limited funds.

So if you want to be part of this community and if you want to have Project X in a yearly basis, then this
is your EVENT!

Gi drop ang project-X tungod kay walay sponsors.. through sponsors, usa nga dha ra pd makabawi ang rootcon sa ilang gasto.. to think, Parklane hotel ra bah.. Since nglisud man ang project-X pangita ug sponsors mao nang kita ang gi sayon2x ug drop sa rootcon.. ma dali2x ra man jd ta ug drop kay igo lng man ta ni sidebit sa ilang event.. Kuwang lng cguro tag cooperation tanan para pangita ug committed nga sponsors.

Kadtong slots nga gihatag sa rootcon para sa ato, sa ila kwenta2x cguro, if only naa lng mga sponsors, bawi na cguro ang gasto, since walay sponsors, ila na lng cguro gihatag sa mga interested nga mo apil sa seminar kay cgurado na nga naa income thru registration fee..

Ok na baya unta to kay naa ta mediator sa ila event.. opportunity nato nga maka-apil tag dako2x nga event aside anang sa mga event nga kita lng ang ng mugna..

How can we achieve this if kita lang ang mg balik2x ug tapok.. Events like rootcon should be considered as stepping stone.
