what is essential? and what happens to models who just have the looks, but no personality at all, most of all you find them in the ordinary places, not to mention, sad to say they dont have english conversational skills, does it matter? of course it does!!!

English skills is a plus, but doesnt matter. Most of them dont get to talk anyway. And check FTV, most can hardly speak good english.

Body is of course the foremost part. Duh. Beauty is second. I seen some who are ugly as Hell. Aura and confidence is very important.

And uh, what the Hell is breading? Not familiar with all this modelling words. lol

    yeah...i thot sad..breading? haha

for me, models dont need brains man cgro. in cebu, you just need to be tall 5'7 and have a decent face and figure and u can go as a model na... wla man gud kau competition so lower ra ang minimum standards... coz if sa manila ka or other bigger cities...must be at least 5'8 cgro, certain weight, naa jd certain meztiza or exotic look. dli pwede plain looking tall thin person ra. hehehe

beauty, body, breeding and brains! A little english would also be good. Since some photographers are more comfortable giving directions in english.

I've worked with models who are so slow in picking up directions that I had to show her directly what pose I wanted her to do. Some show lack of professionalism and throw fits during a shoot because they fought with their bf.

I studied modelling when i was younger at John Robert Powers School of Modelling but i wasn't cut for it but it taught me personal development such as wardrobe (colors and swatches), makeup and makedown, figure analysis and control, ramp and poise, speech, walking and aligment. There's of course different kinds of models such as commercial, runway, etc. As you know, Models aren't all that perfect in appearance. They just have that bearing and poise plus eventhough they aren't that pretty their strongest physical assets will be emphasized. Most of the photographs you see featured in magazines of models are air brushed photos. In real life, they're not as perfectly polished as they are portrayed to be.

Communication skills are essential but it doesnt have to be english only .

^^ True true. I think next time, it should be both! Body is nothing without face, and vice versa!
