if only, Pinoys will value their time and life, i think it will help us to improve our thinking skills, coz, if you're gonna observe your own neighborhood, probably you can witness and see, how your fellow neighbors wasting their time, playing tong-its, drinking alcoholic beverages, ladies that are so insecure on how they will look, kids that are being neglected by their own parents, gays pimping teens, a preacher who don't practice what he preach, a parent who don't want to cooperate with our justice system, just to let his/her offspring escape the cold iron bars of a prison cell,

my point is, we're so busy living our life to survive, we're not living for what is on the other side of the world,.......i mean, we don't know where we gonna be, when we all die,... and i think, LIVING is more important than to survive...

if we want to, improve the intellectual capacity of a juan de la cruz, let's start, on ourselves first,
try to reflect once in a while, seclude your self, from this world of apathy, hate, greed, vanity etc.

open your mind, and emancipate your spirit, and know what is your purpose in this world, by then, if you have an idea on what is it, then share it, don't keep it to yourself,...

i've been doing it, ever since i was "na-togkan ug Boot", the idea that i have coined is......, "if only i can cure, the COLONIAL MENTALITY of juan de la cruz", i think, i can improve or free the mind of juan de la cruz and maybe, lead him to be an intellectually upright person. ...........but, unfortunately, i don't know where to start hehehehe,

i have no basis or what crappy evidence to prove it, all i can say is, just try it

    Matud sa maong article:

Many people assume that possessing superior intelligence or ability—along with confidence in that ability—is a recipe for success. In fact, however, more than 30 years of scientific investigation suggests that an overemphasis on intellect or talent leaves people vulnerable to failure, fearful of challenges and unwilling to remedy their shortcomings.

Young people who believe that their intelligence alone will enable them to succeed in school are often discouraged when the going gets tough.

Teaching people to have a “growth mind-set,” which encourages a focus on effort rather than on intelligence or talent, produces high achievers in school and in life.

Parents and teachers can engender a growth mind-set in children by praising them for their effort or persistence (rather than for their intelligence), by telling success stories that emphasize hard work and love of learning, and by teaching them about the brain as a learning machine.

    this is not new
people who have high IQ have low EQ
those genius are usually antisocial and is craving for affection
who would want to be a genius?
nobody ever thanked himself being a genius as a child
because he does not need it, what he wants is affection

Before their story was made public, most of the kids in the picture need to swim from their small island to the nearest school everyday.

there are statements in your first paragraph that favors "LIVING" over surviving. If you know what I mean.......go figure....not here to promote endless arguments but just point out some disconnects..
