didnt you say you can go on in life without common sense? . lets make this clear maam, you said books are a big factor for the improvement of one's intellectual power (I AM TRYING MY BEST HERE TO EXPLAIN THIS TO YOU AS SIMPLY AS I COULD) but whats written in books are NOT KNOWLEDGE,they are only informations. HOW SO?information can be passed on but it needs to be converted into knowledge to be used. eg. the fact that the ambient room temp.is 40 deg C. that is just only a piece of information you can gain from reading books but if you relate it to another information lets say, the temp. above 30 degrees is hot then we know that the weather is hot. then if you relate it again to another information that if the temp goes 35 deg C,then you know that the weather has become extremely hot. if you apply that information that most people feel uncomfortable at this temp then we have the knowledge that it has become unbearabbly hot.

in other words maam, cut it short nalang, information becomes knowledge when it leads to a judgement/conclusion as to be used in some purpose. and you mentioned about science? and that you can learn science from reading books? i do believe that the whole of science is nothing more than a refinement of everyday's thinking. i am not intelligent but im trying to gain common sense . alot of people say dont really trust what you can read in books as some of them are not true.
