MERGED: Floods in Metro Cebu and Proposed Solutions

The thread title is just an exaggeration. Figures of speech. We have been experiencing abnormal floods, in Metro Manila. Davao, Pampanga and even here in Cebu. I'm trying to solicit opinions about the floods.

For the record, this thread is not about religion but anyone who would like to post in this thread about his religious beliefs is very much welcome. Freedom of expression.

Di mana abnormal, overpopulated na kaayo ang Metro Manila and the canals and drains are full of garbage, karon lang gyud na feel na sa mga taw og na klaro na gyud ang resulta sa pagka walay buot. Di gyud ma reason or palusot ang global warming.

a few years from now ning ana nasad ang Cebu, nag sugod naman gani baha maayo since wala na kaayo mga kahoy sa mountain areas, puros na spalto or opaw na mao ang tubig naturally anhi gyud sa lowland areas paingon, tiwasan sa clogged nga drainage system. Butangi!

Mao mani problem sa Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand sad, but they solved and diciplinado gyud ang mga taw didto. Nevermind nlang ang ph ani, mag sigi rani reklamo hantod sa mu lapaw na gyud sa ulo ang tubig baha.

Various places in the Philippines is experiencing flash floods like in Davao City with more than 20 dead and also in Pampanga. Not to mention the shocking Ondy experience in Metro Manila.

Here in Cebu, we also have our share of grave inundation last January 25.

Are these signs of the massive effects of Global Warming? Are these inevitable?

nope. basura ang cause ani.. its because we failed to protect our environment.. atoa ra gi ani ang atoa gi tanum.. in 10 yrs time mas worst pa ani ang matabo.

Maybe climate change lang gyud siguro ni. But nevertheless, the point here is that people should not just be complacent. Lets be prepared.

Its maybe due to climate change but its also because of us being lazy to clean up our act. Throw a piece of candy wrapper or cigarette butts on the streets and it clogs up the drainage system which also is unfortunately poorly design to withstand such downpours. Major waterways are also being blocked by either squatters or even bigger establishments that should know better.

Fyi. Manila's flooding was caused by the opening of the flood gates to avoid damage to its dams.
