Uhm, you could try the basics:

A Replacement Browser - SkyFire/Dolphin HD
An SMS/MMS Replacement - Go SMS Pro
A Music Replacment App - Ubermusic/Player Pro (or you could settle for the stock Sense player)

Since you like baking based on your blog entries, there are a lot of cooking/baking apps in the market as well.

try Handcent sms as a replacement for messaging.. been using it for a while, nindot ang performance sad..

mag basa2x raman ko sa androidforums sis haha although naay uban too technical ra kaayo ang terms pero mostly masabtan rman sad hehe try lang ug visit didto. basin makauyon rka ug basa2x. you can even ask your queries there and answered with different opinions.
