UP Law Professor Atty. Saligang Batas nagsasabi na a public office is a public trust........ a certain expectation that this public official will carry out the law and be respectful of human rights.

"Violence" is sometimes necessary, especially if its in the enforcement of a court order.
How else can the sheriff enforce the court order? Its an order for demolition, of course there will be "violence" involved, but the kind of violence that respects the law which is permissible. Not the kind of violence that involves anarchy, disrespect for the law and chaos
The law is the law and nobody is above it, even the Davao God Duterte hahaha..
Local political personalities usurping the courts whether for political gain or due to bad temperament erodes the legal system and sends the wrong message to the citizens. What happened was highly unprofessional and illegal, but the aftermath also has worrying implications. No remorse, refusal to apologize to the victim, attempts by the family and supporters to justify barbarism. All these things make the place look primitive and anarchic. Do as I say and not as I do is not progressive thinking nor is it inspiring to hear from one's leaders.
And that dear friends is me signing out on this topic as I too have pretty much had enough now.
