^ Punching somebody in the head and face (repeatedly) is a violent criminal act. I'm dumfounded that you would even try to dispute that.

hahahahaha. a single sentence can be interpreted a million ways. that is why we have lawyers to argue about the merit of the case. if we have the same interpretation of things, we wont be needing our justice system by now, we can tell our lawyers bye bye.

next time you write, you might consider making a little research about davao politics, davao culture and when you're at it, maybe you might want to also research what transpired leading to the punching incident.

a background music will be conducive while doing so. "i shot the sheriff" would be an appropriate song. oh wait, hope someone will change it to "i punch the sheriff". hehehehe

oh hey, here's a good read to start your research.

you didnt even answer my question and you continue with your claims that it was unlawful. Both parties are guilty to some extent, the mayor has her faults and the sheriff has his. Still, let us not be judgmental and close minded. In the first place, you werent there when it happened. You are basing your comments from what you only saw on the tv.

If you were there for the last two hours and knew the ACTUAL scenario, do you think you would react the same way? I dont think so!!!

@ Em: No need to research Davao political history. The law of the land applies to all regions and assault is not legal even for a mayor. This disgraceful conduct has shown the world that Philippine politicians are barbaric. I'm sure many of her peers will be cursing what she did and no doubt many Fil-Ams will be hiding their heads in shame at what is still going on in their motherland.

    i do not think so.

Inday Sara's fist may not be in the right place, but am pretty damn sure her heart is in the right place.

This is what you get if you have a working, hands on mayor. But if you have a mayor who is more concerned on his image than doing his job, then expect a pogi face and grandstanding activities from time to time.

Again you're making excuses for her: This is what you get if you have a working, hands on mayor.

Actually no, violent behavior is not acceptable practice. Is professional conduct, ethics too much to ask from an elected official? I don't think it is and neither do the majority of my friends or colleagues.

Tacit approval for this sort of thing only opens the door to further abuses and encourages tyrants. By accepting what has happened, by condoning these methods we are turning away from progress.

open your eyes too and read read read. and while your reading, try to understand what you are reading.

    for your perusal.

was it wrong? YES. HELL YES THAT WAS WRONG.

what i am saying, in my opinion, it was tolerable, at some point acceptable. kasabot na ka?

as of the moment no cases was filed because the sheriff refused to file a case. DILG is investigating now. whatever the result, be it a categorical right or wrong, will not change what we feel on the issue. We are here to say what we feel about the incident.
