I think if all of the members sa church are open-minded, siguro ma stop ta ni ang mga bati nga activities sa ato mga father. I am not against the church but to the people nga wala nisunod sa ilang gi preach. They said don't gamble pero they accept gambling money? d ba klaro na na? dili na kailangan baliko-on pa para naay mahimong good reason?
I am also against sa ato mga bro and sis nga bisan klaro na, magpakabuta bungol lang jud gihapon then masuko pa if i-point out ang bati nga binuhatan sa simbahan. If ing-ani ta permi, wala na tay kalahi-an sa uban relihiyon.
1st of the contuing FACTS and VIolation of Law:
Tolentino said the Commission on Audit (COA) commented that the grant of the five vehicles violates the constitutional provision that, “No public money or property shall be appropriated, applied or employed directly or indirectly, for the use of, benefit or support to any sect, Church, denomination, except when such priest, preacher or dignitary is assigned to the Armed Forces or to any penal institution, or government orphanage or leprosarium.
i love dakay and vidal........very good people......
However, there is also an article in the charter of the creation of PCSO, which gives way to the assistance to charitable institutions .. If the Bishops accepted the vehicles, not for their own personal use or use of their convent, instead made use of the vehicle for charitable works, I believe they did not break any Law whatsoever .. Bishop Jumoad of isabela prelature in Basilan, clearly said how the vehicle is being used .. He should be commended for being honest by saying, he recieved from GMA .. second, he clarified that it is not for his personal use .. but for the citizenry of the province: transporting the sick from the far flung barrios to the hospital .. or the goods for charitable outreach etc .. I don't know Basilan .. but I believe they dont have the luxury of our good roads from the barangay to the towns .. thus, the need for a sturdy vehicle .. why would the bishops be castigated .. just because they received something from GMA for the use of the poor and needy citizenry? When GMA offered them the car, did they know that it came from the PCSO? and not from the presidential fund? And just because many people are against GMA (also yours truly in many of her policies), anybody, not only the bishops, should be faulted by accepting Cars for the use of outreach programs? Lastly, just because the bishops are doing so much noise against the policies of THIS GOV'T, and its ineptness in governance, and so they try distract the people, or get sympathy of the people, by sensationalizing such "gifts" from the former president?
One year after, this government has still to show to the filippino people the direction towards freedom from poverty and good governance" walang mahirap, kung walang kurap" .. hitting the catholic church by the imprudence and misjudgement of this or that bishop will never do good for this government .. the Church is never an enemy toward progress ... rather a partner of it! whether those who are anti church in this thread like it or not ..
source: Bishops: Why single us out? | Inquirer NewsDavao Archbishop Fernando Capalla made similar remarks to the CBCP News.
“If there’s malice in those donations to Catholic bishops, the PCSO must also identify all the other recipients from other churches,” he said.
Capalla said PCSO donations to Catholic institutions were being used for relief efforts and poverty alleviation and health programs.
“I don’t know why they take it [against] the bishops and make it appear scandalous,” he said. “This is unfair. I challenge them to show the records—the real records, and not the twisted ones.”
He also said the controversy “is really giving us priests a bad image.”
Lipa Archbishop Ramon Arguelles said it was the “main intention” of the PCSO to “destroy the credibility of the bishops.”
“But we are not afraid of it,” he said.
Basilan Bishop Martin Jumoad said he was prepared to surrender the SUV bought with PCSO funds but maintained that the bishops would always be critical of leaders like Mr. Aquino “who is doing nothing for the country.”
In an interview with Church-run Radio Veritas, Jumoad agreed that the PCSO was going after the Catholic hierarchy for being critical of the Aquino administration.
“We are always [in] critical collaboration [with] all Presidents because we want to be the voice in terms of telling the truth,” the bishop said, adding:
“… [T]here are times that we collaborate and there are times that we denounce, particularly if the people are not being given attention in terms of welfare.
“Another thing is, the bishops have been very vocal in criticizing when a President is doing nothing for the country, like P-Noy (Mr. Aquino), who has been in his position for one year but we see no direction from him.”
Jumoad said he was prepared to surrender the Mitsubishi Strada that was bought with P1.1 million from the PCSO.
He said the SUV was being used for medical and relief missions as well as in negotiations with kidnappers, “but … if P-Noy wants to get it, it’s ready.”
take note the phrase in bold. Welfare kuno sa people? or welfare nila? pag sure oi. In the first place ngano modawat man ni nga mga pari-a nga kabalo man sila nga ang money comes from gambling. If kaning sa RH bill, if mo benefit pa sila ani, asa ni sila musupak.
Bro, before criticizing the good bishop, by saying it is used for the good of the people of basilan .. for relief goods and outreach program .. I advise you to go Isabel, Basilan and see for yourself .. if the bishop is telling the truth .. bring cameras to document your findings .. and then, with those documents, you can criticize them or judge them .. otherwise, what your saying here will always be taken as "women's long talk"!
I salute the bishops who are not afraid to tell the turth about this government .. and are not afraid even if the same government is destroying their credibility .. as Jesus puts it: "be afraid instead of the One who can destroy both body and soul!"
