kutob sa mahimo its our leaders job to talk to the opposing country for peaceful means. what im pointing is if in case we dont know and we can not predict a war will broke up. who do you think will defend our country USA? no its us and who will directly affected if war will broke up USA? no its us, our family our friends our love ones. if we will not defend our love ones who will? no body but us...

It is definitely true that war nowadays does not involve much infantry unlike before. May dad was in the military and a lot of my relatives are in the military and I also wanted to be a part of it too. I have to agree that there has been a lot of corruption going on. A retired Col. of the army who was also the supplies officer of the brigade kept on telling us how corruption works. The government will issue 7 undergarments for each soldier once the budget is released to the commanding officer, it becomes 6 then to XO's it becomes 5. Til the time the supplies are granted, our poor soldiers will just get 3. Well, this is how it really worked for the army during their time. Despite all these things(hearsays- coz I don't have a solid evidence) said, I still believe that going through military training is really helpful not only in times of war but also to becoming law abiding citizens of the country. Corrupt tuod and we would really have a hard time fixing it pero as a matured person to know what is right and wrong, I definitely learned the right things to save people's lives, how to survive at times of disaster and also fear the consequences for not following the law. If it would be compulsory, I think daghan ang mag reklamo kay ganahan lang magpalami sa life. If voluntary, gamay ra jud kaay muapil ani kay daghan tao nga wla kabalo sa unsa jud ang makat-unan ani na training and besides kinsay ganahan mag training na lingaw man kaayo ko sa pagFB, og mga online games? If I were your officer, I will just ask you to give me one good reason why you should not join the training and I will excuse you.

I honestly don't know what will happen if in case a war does break in the country. Like our military is just...so third world. If in case an international war as horrific as you described would break out (where everybody seems to be urged to fight), we'd be long gone before we know it.

It is good to defend our loved ones, yes. Question is, how? We don't even have the advantage when it comes to artillery. Gamit palang, nagkulang nata, while other countries have these so called nuclear stockpile. I dunno what it is yet but it sounds dangerous to me.

I don't agree that we should have compulsory military training per se... but more like a "selective service" for males 18 y/o and older, much like what they have in the United States. Naa ba ang pinas ani? Murag wa man... correct me if I'm wrong. Kung wala, this should be a requirement.
