    per observation, gay people do not really want to be gay in a homophobic society like ours. but then, the only way to be happy is to follow the maxim of "to thine own self be true". people want to be in union with those they love. in our civilization, the ritual for union is marriage hence, gay people may want to be married.

    i say, let them. they just want to be happy. who but the unhappy or selfish wants others to be as miserable as they are. as long as they are not infringing on the rights of others. but then, as of now, same *** marriage is not legal in our country.
