I saw Le Marquis... Katong gi shot sa Cebu.. It's a no-brainer comedy film...

A lot of issues with technicality, writing, characterization and directing... Na luro lang kog kalit sa gibuhat sa director ug editor kay ang aerial shots Manila pero ang interior ug like 50% of the film was shot in Cebu -- Plantation Bay, IT Park, Ayala, Mabolo, Mactan Airport -- and still called it "Manila" coz that's what the story called for... I guess di pa ing-ana ka sikat ang Cebu worldwide compared to Manila. I don't know the issues regarding why they didn't get to shoot in Manila. Film taxes perhaps? But did it really matter if they just simply said Cebu Philippines?

Anyway, what sort of makes the story come together is the interesting chemistry between Thomas (Dubosc) and Quentin (Berry)... They are the selling point of the movie and they actually worked... The black woman playing the French FBI sucked big time, even Anglade who played Jo wasn't good, Joel Torre who kept shouting was another mishap, the repetitive supposedly comedic lines ultimately became absurd and annoying (it's you! yes, it's me! no it's you! it's me! it's you)...

But as what it was, a movie with elements that reflect Filipino comedies, Dolphy and Chiquito kakuletan comes to mind, a jam-packed theater was supremely bemused.
