Unsa nga virtualization software imong e run ang ESXi 4.x ?
Also what will the virtual machines be doing ?
XEON based QUADs wud do the job.

First, ang importante is lots and lots of RAM. Secondly is your hard drive. Better put your host OS in 1 disk, then RAID for your guest operating system(s). Ayaw jud partition 1 drive for your host and guest kay kamang jud na. Lastly, a quad core with VT-x/VT-d or AMD equivalent for your processor. Get a video card that can drive your monitor/resolution, no need to buy a GTX 580!
My current System at work:
Core i7 860, 16GB RAM, MSI P55 GD80, Intel X25-m HOST, Quad 1TB Seagate Barracudas GUESTS
This is for Hyper-V, I don't know how other VM software perform. My host system has 0 apps installed, it's all in my VMs.

mas ok ba kung e OC ang cpu or stock speed nalang kung magpadagan ug daghan vm? example i5-2500k OCed vs stock i7-2600..
ok ra mga 20-40gb SSD ang host OS/vm workstation program nya ilahi tanan apps/games/vm guest OSes sa pikas HDD?
