Is c++ still alive today?

I think C++ is not used heavily in Cebu. The reason: C++ is usually used for advanced programs such as PC games, OS utilities, and device drivers. Cebu doesn't have many IT companies like Silicon Valley, so most of the companies here are using PHP or .NET (or naay gamay Java).

I think it's not an exaggeration to say that less than 20 companies use C++ here in Cebu...

those companies worked on firmwares, device drivers, and low-level stuffs.
and even released product in the market.

kay kanang kamao ug C/C++ kay mostly kamo jd moprogram then naa jd na sa geek level,
meaning naa clay common since mo "google" if naay pangutana..

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for common _sense_ and Googling and I agree with most of your post, but to shoot down someone for asking a question with the actual intent of looking for intellectual conversation with smug comments and snide remarks is, well, just stupid.

He's asking why noone talks much about C++ in the forums; I, personally, do not like C++ but personal preference aside, I think it was a fair question and (@pizzaboy) not at all dumb.
