Tallo leaves Ateneo: Right or Wrong Move?

naa pa tingai na sa edad si Tallo nga gustog "instant fame"... you know, teenagers nowadays....

but on the other hand, delikado pod matay-an sya didtos ateneo nilingkod sa bench during actual games... ma usik ang abilidad sa bata...

this is a tough decision for him and his family.... pero bsta padayon lang syas iyang kugi in developing his game, naa lagi ni syay maabtan... with or without ateneo's help....

Ubay-ubay sad ang gi offeran but not as publicized as Tallo's. And please give some credit to the entire CIT Jrs. for the title. Di ra one-man game ang basketball tawn.

You're way overrating the local talents . If you think about it , Padilla was only a shooter (Kapono-type player) whereas Dondon can shoot and can drive to the basket . Tangkay was slow - it was painful to watch .

OT : Tangkay was actually a very quick 2-guard/forward bai.. I used to watch him a lot at practice & tune-up games. He's really a talented lefty, taas kaayog layat & hingigo. Idol kaau nako sya sa una coz he was like a real-life RUKAWA, maypagka buayahon pero naa gyuy abilidad..Hehe During college, he can easily drop 30-40 points like anytime he wants. When he entered the PBL and played for Welcoat, he immediately caught the Manila crowd's attention tungod sa iyang dinuwaan.. There was a game that he broke Renren Ritualo's PBL scoring record. In that same season (if I remember it right), he lost the MVP award to Peter June Simon of Montana Jewelers, which led to a strange protest from the Welcoat team & some PBL fans. Ni-dako gyud to nga issue to a point where Commissioner CHINO TRINIDAD cried like a little girl on TV & threatened to resign from his position.. Welcoat eventually apologized & requested Trinidad to stay in office. When Tangkay made it to the PBA, I was still able to follow his career for awhile. He's had a few impressive games with Sta. Lucia, one of it was when he dropped 30+points in a thrilling win then he was interviewed for being the game's best-player (pwerte gyud raba bisdaka manulti). After a few conferences nag sige na syag ka-injured then gi-drop sa team hantod nawala na sa limelight. Last thing I heard kay nagduwa nalang syag commercial leagues sa Cebu. Problema lang pud ato niya kay naay bisyo, kusug daw to mosuyop pag college pa lang. Mao diay pwerteng lutawa moduwa.

But IMHO, Tangkay is a testament that players from outside of Manila, despite their outstanding basketball skills, are not gonna get the much deserved attention & exposure in the big leagues compared to those who studied & played in Manila esp Ateneo & La Salle.. Swerte lang si Dondon & Ferriols kay nahimo nilang bridge ang MBA para ma-expose sila sa Manila crowd & they made the most out of it. This is a sad reality sa Philippine basketball, kung di ka humot sa Manila pag college, gamay ra kaau imong chance maka-sud or mo-lungtad sa PBA.

ONT : So para nako, gamble ni kang Macmac Tallo, whether to stay in Manila to hopefully gain the much needed exposure -or- go home to further polish his skills. It's a tough decision but whichever way he takes, I'd wish him all the best. Ok unta nga bisag naa ra syas Cebu, he can still showcase his talent in any way possible didto sa mga taga Manila.. Kid is so gifted so maayo gyud unta naa ni padulngan iyang basketball career. Ma-proud man pod ta kung naay fellow Cebuano nga mo sikat sa big league.

Naa bay c BJ Zosa og Montalvo sa CEC..pro krn g gamit cla sa UE pag fil oil arn m polish ila skills...while tallo is warming the bench.
