Cebu to pay P22M for toilets

CEBU CITY – The Cebu Provincial Government is asking contractors to submit their bids for eight municipal birthing centers worth P10.34 million and P22.11 million worth of public restrooms for the province’s north and south areas. “My aim is one birthing center per town or city,” Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia told mayors and vice mayors in Tuesday's Provincial Development Council (PDC) meeting at the Capitol.


She said that buildings for senior citizens are being planned and biddings may be conducted soon.

Of Cebu’s 51 towns and cities, Capitol already built 25 birthing centers, with latest completed in Moalboal.


Based on the invitation to bid, the next eight birthing centers will be built in Carcar, Sta. Fe, Borbon, Consolacion, Santander, Naga, Balamban and Tabuelan.
The cost of building these centers ranges from P1.24 million to P1.39 million.

I think it will cost that much kung hospital ang ipa built and dili sd pwede tanan towns ma hatagan. So pra maka share tanan much better birthing center sa kay wala pra raba na approve ang RH/RP bill.

^^mas important jud ang hospital kysa sa mga birthing center sir oi. pwede ra baya manganak ang mga buntis sa BHU. naa bayay mga midwife ngadto. pero what if naay emergency nga mahitungod sa health sa usa ka tao? dagan na sd ari syudad ky walay ospital sa probinsya. ang ending, nagdasok sa vicente sotto...

as an healthcare practitioner I strongly disagree with this plan! It's a waste of money! They have a plan naman sad sa mga Provincial Hospitals,na redundant na hinuon ilang mga plano! They plan to build Provincial Hospitals in Bogo, Danao, Balamban, Carcar! Doesn't that cover enough constituents from the province? Instead they should give ambulances mga dile mga multicabs to increase the delivery sa services! Naa naman say mga District Hospitals. It's like building a mall in every town to increase your profit but ang maintenance cost ana? supplies? etc.

this is a bit O.T, pero I remember a looong time ago dunay mga establishment hiding under the cover of "birthing center" Actually, they also accomodated what is euphemistically termed "VTOP" hehehehe
