tinood ba gud ni? nag libog nalang kop
i don't know if this is done whether to promote another type of product or whatever but it seems kinda biased and baseless.
first off, the general rule is that too much of anything is not good. so that's a given. as for the side effects though, although im not a 100% sure about all of them, i do know that most of those mentioned has little to no chance of happening since the intake of protein will not directly effect those said side effects. i think xenoxorph already pointed out some of them so i won't repeat it anymore so as not to be redundant.
the thing is, protein is already in our daily diet and whey is just another form of it. the difference being that whey is absorbed and utilized much faster compared to animal or meat protein and other forms such as casein and albumin. so whey is just basically used for supplementation and in some cases, as a meal substitute for those on a weight-loss diet. it also has lesser calories, fat, sodium and sugar and carbs content pound-for-pound than what we usually eat BY FAR. so whey is actually a pretty good, if not the best and safest supplement there is.
whey has been around and used for decades now and i've yet to encounter cases of those said side effects, even to those who've been taking whey for decades too. it's been endorsed and recommended by doctors, trainers, athletes and other professionals as one of the safest and most effective supplements out there for years.
as far as most of us are concerned, we're far off from getting those side effects since most of us(let's face it) can't afford to consume massive amounts of whey. on average, i guess most of the consumers take about 1-2 servings of whey/day. that's roughly 20-50g of protein depending on the brand. this is actually quite enough for sustainance or maintaining muscle mass if we also have good amounts of protein in our diet. but for most pinoys, the bulk of our daily diet are carbs esp from bread and rice. the intake of whey we have will not even be good enough to spurt great muscle gains.
but just for this argument's sake, let's say that there is a good chance of getting those side effects. but there are also simple, easy ways of preventing them from happening.
1. increase your water intake = good for the kidneys and pH balance
2. take in carbs after workout = counter the 'ketosis' problem
3. increase your calcium intake and include joint-strengthening exercises in your regimen = osteoporosis
4. select brands that are lactose-friendly = nuff said
and of course for the readers, it always pays to check the label, do research and consult with a health professional to be sure
pag natural nalang lagi mo. hahaha. alsa lang kung alsa
