You are forgetting that there are people who benefits in every war. They supply and sell the weapons and arms, the military planes and the war missiles.
This is how they make money in war.
So if they become greedy now.
they can create another false flag operations(like 911) just to start a war.

But these people don't control the democratic process in America, unless you are knee-deep into conspiracy theories. The plain fact is that Americans are sick of war and will never tolerate a war with China. Whichever political party makes the decision to go into such a crazy war will be kicked out of office in no time.

Trust me that no country wants any kind of war between these two giants U.S. and China. It will have catastrophic effect on our economy even if we aren't involved. The area is a primary sea lane where trade goods pass from Asia to the world, any interruption of this trade route will cause mass poverty on a scale you can't imagine. Think what will happen to the Philippines once we are no longer able to import rice from Thailand or cheap commodities from China. Our inflation is only low because of cheap goods, think if we can no longer buy cheap Chinese goods and have to buy super expensive Philippine products and do the math, we will be lucky if we don't see 100% inflation in one year.

Bottomline: It's never going to happen. It's in no one's interests and the energy reserves in that area is not even known, it could be as large as Saudi Arabia or it could be absolutely nothing. Who wants to gamble a war for such uncertain benefits?

By the way the Chinese in the Philippines have nothing to do with the Chinese in China or even the Chinese government. You have to understand most Filipino-Chinese came to the Philippines precisely to escape communism and there is no love for the communist party within the Chinese community here. Even Chinese in China are not necessarily supportive of CCP, but the sad reality is they must accept their rule, as you know what happened the last time Chinese tried to resist the communist party. This is another reason China won't get into a war with another country, their legitimacy with their people demands them to maintain the status quo as their rule isn't as solid as some people might believe and the whole system can tumble down at the smallest miscalculation.
