    Default Web-based Database

    Hi guyz!

I am not an IT grad pero I know how to program C and a little bit of Java. Right now, I want to do a project for a small org and I'm currently learning PHP & mySQL for it. Please give advise on how I can do the project easily. Kay basin naay mga software diha na click click nalang instead of hardcore programming. This is the project:

The organization has a headquarter and composed of 5 teams dispersed into different locations. These 5 teams have reports to pass to the headquarter. So, akong plano, is that there's a web-based database wherein thru net nalang ang submission at the same time, the web will capture the list of reports submitted by the different teams. The teams access to the database is the submission of docs and inputting of data about the doc submitted. Then, to conserve space, they have to purge the document before they can submit another. Sa HQ sab na side, they can input as well as delete data from the database. They check the reports submitted and when they click approved, the data will then be successfully included sa database. Then naay mga status status for each report.

So my question is, OK ra na PHP & mySQL ra akong gamiton for this one? And is there a freeware of some sort to facilitate the development of this simple project? Kay basically, naa siyay login na page, then each user will have restrictions as to the manipulation of the database.

Please help. I don't intend to become a very experienced programmer for this, I just want to look for away to make the development easier for free of course. Basta FREE lang jud siya, then I can customize the design of the website accordingly to fit the organization.

quite complex job to solve a simple problem (I still figure it out actually). I'm not telling you that don't do it. but seriously they can easily submit their reports via company mail, and cc to their boss or other trades. I can't find any advantages of putting a web based application. there should be someone in the main office who can control & track all the incoming/outgoing documents.

I'ts not that complex actually, as long as you know how to upload files using php and mysql, the rest will be easy.

Nope. Handling files requires scripting jd. Frontpage only handles HTML(as far as I know) which is only a mark-up language and cannot do any of the tasks that you mentioned.

PHP and MySQL should be enough jd your needs. It sounds simple enough.

I'd offer my services, but puno kaau mig projects karon.
