May man ug gi-pusta na nila.

Abi kay San Miguel, hubog2x na ang huna2x?
Please study what the company's business.

OT: speaking of pusta, mudawat man gihapon ug tabang ang church from PAGCOR in terms of "donation"....

If they have billions invested in the stock market, dakong tabang na sa economy.

And since when did investing become something wrong? Gusto ba ninyo mag ginamos ug di na moilis ug sanina ang mga pari ug madre tungod sa vow of poverty?

It just happened that the church has a better business foresight and financial education than most of the people ranting here.

Nothing is wrong with investing, per se but if you are posing as a MORAL AUTHORITY and you know that one of the major business of the company is selling liquor, shouldn't you stay away from such company? one's MORAL ASCENDANCY is eroded if it does not practice what it preach.

there is a reason why alcoholic drinks are charged with SIN TAX, you know, coz maybe it's a sin...

with that sum of money, makasanina na sila og gold plated.

just goes to show that the church is profit-oriented...maybe the government should tax them

you obviously didn't read the article. you're also clearly missing the point of the article.

the article is suggesting that with all those "financial intellect" that these religious leaders have, why are they preaching to the rest of us that money is the root of all evil? why are they preaching "si diyos ang bahala sa lahat"? and of note is the part where they preach satisfaction in what you have (even when people are already penniless).

Apart from shaping the morality of the people, the Church should also do its part in providing financial education to its flock. The weekly Sunday sermons should, therefore, include not just lessons about being morally upright. The Church should also convince mass goers to work and pursue livelihood and to get rid of their sole dependence on God (“Bahala na ang Diyos sa amin”).

The Church should educate its people about the value of earning, saving and investing money and not condone Catholics who are already contented in life even if they are penniless (“Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven”).

Drinking is never a sin.. Drunkeness is.
If dili ka Katoliko, pangutana kuno sa inyong pastor kung sala ba ang mo-inom.
Mao bitaw nang "Drink Moderately". Lahi ra jud sa "Cigarette smoking is DANGEROUS to your health".

Dili na San Miguel Brewery sila nag-invest, but San Miguel Corporation, a Conglomerate..

Why am I talking to someone who don't have even a slight idea of what investing is.
