    We received a circular last week as advised from the National Security qouted as follows;

"The Ministry of Interior’s Immigration Department has announced the following change in visa processing, effective immediately:

Until further notice, no visas of any kind will be issued for individuals from Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria and Iran.

This ban includes: family visit visa, tourist visa, business visa and No Objection Certificates (NOC)

Please note: the Immigration Department will not even accept applications for visa processing for these countries.

This ban has been issued in full cooperation with State Security."

My point here, naka ban man gani ang mga Iraqi's mismo sa ila silingang Gulf Region and then ang Pilipinas tangtangon ang ban para lang malessen ang unemployed rate sa nasud?
I don't need to mention unsa mi nga country, all I can say is we're very close to Iraq.

Speaking of gamble, if puslan man mo take ug risk better yet apply for Afghanistan at least sulit sa gamble kay expat workers there are well compensated.
My friends who used to work in Iraq have transferred to Afghanistan they get paid 3 or 4 times from what they used to get while they were in Iraq.

What's the difference anyway, pareho ra bitaw gehapon Iraq ug Afghanistan naka ban sa Pinas.

Trabaho man kahay tumong di cge tira!

so basically what you are saying is everyone should have choices!!! mao ra man dapat na, if your friend is in Afghanistan despite the travel ban, there are also filipinos in Iraq. And unfortunately they are not protected by our government because the ban is imposed. Thus not benefits from OWWA, POEA and other government agencies.

    Chill sis,
Kung ang tawo moso-ong sa delikado or simply takes risks in an unsecured situation.
That is obviously, his personal preference.
As the other OFW's said before , whether e-lift ang ban or dili limitado ra man gehapon ang matabang sa gobyerno.
Daghan naman kaso getabangan sa DFA maski naa sa mga naka ban nga nasud.
Whilst it is evident that a great number of distressed Filipinos are in dire need of gov'ts assistance?
Let me ask you first, are you an OFW?
If the answer is no, then I will understand that you have not witnessed the situations of our dear kabayans from our labor offices abroad.

mao na. Im not saying that we just deploy ofws for the sake of deploying them in Iraq. Both governments can provide a safety net for our workers. If mao man gani na ilang gipang buhat then the government should just support them. Ask them to sign a waiver kung ing ana gyud ka risky, mas daghan gihapon ang mo larga kaysa mag huwat sa wala diri sa atoa.

Let this be an option for our ofws, anyway those who doesnt like Iraq can stay somewhere else.

chill ra ko bro, hehehe....I havent been there personally...but ive been with people who has experienced this. It is a sad truth that we ALL Filipinos have to face. I don't need to be physically there not to understand their sentiments. That is precisely why i am advocating this because ang katong nag trabaho sa iraq ug tinarong di na hinuon mahatagan ug tagad because of this ban.

What if I tell you that this travel ban is not solely for the purpose of "keeping our filipinos safe". There are politicians who implemented this because of their own agenda, and because of that Filipinos suffer from this decision. The wait is too long already, and I think its time to lift this.
