yes that is what we call hanlulubog or the Common philippine ratsnake (Elaphe erythrura). One of the few types of snake that has adapted to live in urban areas. A colubrid that can be venomous but not deadly to humans. They can inflict a painful bite though their venom is at the rear dentition. Its best to catch and just relocate these snakes.

well you definitely need to remember the snake as its venom is snake specific and so is its anti-venin

So its very critical to memorize or remember the type of snake when bitten.
more questions:

What if I can't remember the type of snake because of some circumstances like, absence of light or in a hurry?
By the circumstances above, I wont receive any anti-venom?
What will happen to me?

Sir, I wasn't able to take pics of my palaos/monitor lizard because moments after I posted here. A friend of my uncle, who is an owner of an aviary in our place, offered to buy the lizard from me. I sold it to him because he seems like he can take care of it better than me. He also said he would process the papers so that keeping the said specimen wouldn't be illegal.

There are some antivenins that cover several species while some dont. Say for example antivenin A covers that of vipers and Cobras but does not include colubrids. So antivenin A couldnt help in curing the problem of a colubrid bite and might even cause adverse effects on the patient.

so meaning there are groups of antivenin or some generic that will be applicable to certain specie?
what would be the adverse effects if this situation happens?
would it be very fatal?

This is a very informative thread about snakes but still I'm not getting any one as a pet. I only enjoy watching them on TV like NatGeo, Discovery, and the like. Whenever I see a live snake, it scares the hell out of me. In fact, I never dared to touch Prony, a famous Bohol python when I went to Bohol. Good thing we only have a few number of deadly snakes in our country.

I have a question to our herpetologists here. What is the most challenging deadly snake you have ever dreamed to take care of?
