small to juvys tokays can inflict a powerful bite but adults can so my advice is just handle them wth care

it hurts and yes ur finger or whatever parts it bites u will bleed(if adult) but f its a hatchling or juvy it wont hurt that much....

definitely YES! if hatchling or juvy, ma tolerate ra. but if the hand is medyo nipis ang panit, like those on some girls...chances are, juvy's can still draw blood. but adults, sigurado gyud ka na paakon gyud ka if you try to capture them, harass them, or corner them.

Unlike other lizards that will simply scamper away, or will try to find a way out when cornered...tokays will stand their ground. ingon ana sila kaisog.

tokays are known to eat other smaller lizards (like the smaller house geckos that are familiar fixtures in our ceilings and walls)...they also will not hesitate to eat hatchlings of their own kind. the baby tokay you saw probably narrowly escaped the jaws of a bigger tokay.

yes they are really interesting! their wild color or morphs may not be as fascinating as the more colorful fancy tokay morphs developed in the US...but still, they are a magnificent species.

new photos of "blaire" taken yesterday. she's sporting here a lighter body hue.

they are capable of changing their body color from bright blue/green-grey with
red-orange spots...to a really dark shade of grey...and anywhere in between.
body color changing depends on their mood, temperature, humidity, etc. in the wild,
especially for specimens living in the forest, this ability helps them camouflage themselves,
thus, avoiding predation.
